Summary
- One of the most interesting returning worlds across Kingdom Hearts is the 100 Acre Wood.
- As beloved as Pooh is, though, his and Sora’s story appeared to wrap up on an important note in Kingdom Hearts 3.
- Fans have been discussing whether Pooh should return in Kingdom Hearts 4 or if he should be left behind in the Xehanort Saga.
Kingdom Hearts fans are split on whether Winnie the Pooh and the 100 Acre Woods should return in Kingdom Hearts 4 or if the pair’s story should stop with the third mainline game.
Although one of the most exciting things about a new Kingdom Hearts game is seeing all of the Disney worlds that get introduced to the series, there are a number of characters and locations that end up appearing several times. Olympus, Halloween Town, and Neverland all come to mind as frequent Gummi Ship fliers, but arguably one of the ones that stands out the most is the 100 Acre Woods.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories recently had its 20th anniversary, but a key part of its story is still hidden behind a repeated mistranslation.
What makes 100 Acre Wood special compared to the other Disney worlds is that Sora’s visits to Winnie the Pooh and his friends are treated as more of a relaxing minigame and catch-up session than a Heartless-destroying set of arenas. Sora’s relationship with Pooh is also more of an important theme here than it is with the other Disney worlds, giving it more of a reason to stick around as long as it has.
Kingdom Hearts Fans Aren’t Sure If Pooh Should Return In KH4
This arc was taken to an interesting place in Kingdom Hearts 3, with Sora’s surprising melancholy visit to Pooh acting as a reminder that the connections between hearts can get weaker over time. With that arc wrapped up nicely alongside the finale to the Xehanort Saga, fans have been discussing whether Pooh should make a comeback in Kingdom Hearts 4.
The discussion on Pooh’s potential removal from the series was started by Redditor PUMPKIN-SUSHI over on the Kingdom Hearts subreddit, who started things off by saying they don’t know why so many fans want 100 Acre Woods to be left behind. PUMPKIN-SUSHI called Sora and Pooh’s connection one of the more charming in the whole series, which is certainly a point in its favour.
In the comments, however, fans are a bit more mixed about the world’s potential. Redditor Takenabe shared some confusion about the world’s meaning in KH3 and said that he’d be willing to see it return if the story justifies it, but is hesitant if not. A few Redditors, including Cosmos_Null, say that the problem in KH3 was the minigames, which need to be fun enough to make a return worth it.
As much as I love the 100 Acre Woods and think it’s a Kingdom Hearts staple at this point, I would prefer to see it replaced with another laid-back world. Give me Bluey, or give me death.
Other fans are a bit more positive about Pooh making a comeback, with Riley__64 even suggesting that it could adapt Christopher Robin’s story by making Pooh and the gang search for Sora in Quadratum since he’s been missing for so long. That’s something that even the most jaded 100 Acre Wood haters can surely get behind, right?
