Every Disney Dreamlight Valley Villain So Far

Every Disney Dreamlight Valley Villain So Far

While Disney Dreamlight Valley has a big roster of heroes, players can also befriend some of the most wicked villains in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ history. With villains available in both Disney Dreamlight Valley’s base game and its two expansion passes, players can fine tune their game’s character roster for their best personal experience.

Currently, there are six villains available on Disney Dreamlight Valley’s character roster, with one more confirmed to be arriving in the game this summer in the second chapter of the Storybook Vale expansion pass. With this new total of seven, the base game has three villains on its character roster and each expansion pass has two villains.

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Star Paths are one of the best and only ways to get new items, but getting those items takes a lot of player dedication.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Base Game Villains

Mother Gothel

Two villains were available in Disney Dreamlight Valley at launch. Mother Gothel is an interesting case between these two beginning base game villains. Unlike the other villain available at launch, Mother Gothel was the only character from her film present in Disney Dreamlight Valley for quite some time. Her adoptive daughter Rapunzel as well as Flynn Rider would eventually join Disney Dreamlight Valley thanks to the A Rift in Time and Storybook Vale expansion passes respectively. This puts Mother Gothel in the camp of Disney Dreamlight Valley villains who are separated from their heroes. She is the only base game villain representative of this divide.

Players can unlock Mother Gothel during the quest “The Curse.” On their quest, players explore the giant tree in the Glade of Trust where they will meet and unlock Tangled’s villain. Mother Gothel’s Friendship Rewards include three motifs, three clothing items, and one piece of furniture.

Ursula

The other villain available at Disney Dreamlight Valley’s launch was Ursula. Other characters from her universe include Ariel and Prince Eric, who were also a part of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s character roster at the game’s launch. While Ursula typically appears as herself in-game, players can purchase her “Vanessa” Dream Style as part of the Ursula’s Transformation Dream Bundle for 4,000 Moonstones.

Players can unlock Ursula during the quest “With Great Power…”, which is available after following the main story quests to unlock Dazzle Beach. Ursula is unique because her house, a dark sea cave, is unlocked in a separate friendship quest, “Lair Sweet Lair.” Ursula’s Friendship Rewards include three motifs, two pieces of clothing, and two pieces of furniture.

Scar

Scar was added to the Disney Dreamlight Valley base game in version 1.1, shortly after the game’s launch. Nala and Simba were added in version 1.4 and Timon and Pumbaa were added in version 1.13, better known as the Jungle Getaway update. This makes The Lion King the universe with the most characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Unlocking Scar in Disney Dreamlight Valley is a tad more difficult than unlocking Mother Gothel and Ursula. Players must first advance through main story quests, specifically The Curse. The Sunlit Plateau must also be unlocked for 7,000 Dreamlight. After restoring the Pillars of Friendship, Courage, Power, and Trust, the way to Scar’s Cave will be cleared. This will also unlock the quest to restore the Sunlit Plateau pillar. Scar’s Friendship Rewards include three motifs and four pieces of furniture.

Baby Dragons have been a great addition to Disney Dreamlight Valley, but one underrepresented film could bring the real deal to the game

A Rift in Time’s Villains

Gaston

The A Rift in Time expansion pass updated in several parts. While both villains on A Rift in Time’s character roster were available in the DLC’s first Act, only one villain was initially available as a villager. Gaston can be found swaggering about Eternity Isle and other parts of the Valley thanks to the expansion. Both Belle and the Beast are characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley, though they are notably separated from Gaston as they are base game characters.

There are several feats players must complete before they unlock Gaston. After opening access to the Glittering Dunes, three story quests for Gaston become available to players, including The Wanderer of the Dunes, The Wild Tangle’s Swarm, and Diamond in the Rough. Only after completing all three quests will Gaston join the Village. Gaston can be found standing beside the quicksand in the westernmost area of The Plains in the Glittering Dunes. His Friendship Rewards include three motifs, two pieces of furniture, and two pieces of clothing.

Jafar

Jafar was also introduced to Disney Dreamlight Valley through the A Rift in Time expansion pass, although he is not available as a villager until Act 3. Currently, Jafar is the only character from Aladdin present in Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, Disney Dreamlight Valley’s 2025 roadmap suggests that he will be joined by Aladdin and Jasmine sometime soon. Like Mother Gothel and Gaston, Jafar will be separated from Aladdin and Jasmine as the prince and princess will be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley’s base game.

A hologram of Jafar immediately greets players who have purchased the A Rift in Time expansion in the Plaza. This kick starts the quest The Port of Many Worlds, which makes players travel to Eternity Isle. Jafar maintains a heavy presence throughout A Rift in Time’s story quests, though he is not available for players to unlock until after confronting him in the final Eternity Isle Story quest, The Now and Then. Players can then invite him in a follow-up quest from Oswald, The Lesser Evil. Jafar’s Friendship Rewards contain three motifs, two pieces of furniture, and three pieces of clothing.

Storybook Vale’s Villains

Hades

Hades is the only villain from the Storybook Vale expansion pass currently available as a villager in Disney Dreamlight Valley. He is also the only character from Hercules to join the game so far. Disney Dreamlight Valley’s 2025 roadmap did not tease additional characters from Hercules, making Herc and Megara unlikely additions to the Valley this year.

Players can unlock Hades after completing the Guts & Glory story quest. They must also complete the Trial chamber in the Elysian Fields. Hades’ Lair also must be constructed for 10,000 Star Coins. Once constructed, Hades will move to the Valley. Hades’ Friendship Rewards include three motifs, two pieces of furniture, and three pieces of clothing.

Maleficent

Maleficent seems to be taking a similar role in the Storybook Vale expansion as Jafar did in A Rift in Time. She is the main antagonist of the DLC and will officially be added as a villager in the second chapter of the Storybook Vale expansion pass. Specific details about unlocking Maleficent, her schedule, and her Friendship Rewards are currently unknown. However, players can encounter her briefly in the Story Quest “The Mistress of All Evil.”

Overall, Disney Dreamlight Valley’s roster of villains certainly spooks up the game’s character roster. Based on Disney Dreamlight Valley’s 2025 plans, it seems like villains will continue to pop up on the roster going forward.
