To prevent Titan from destroying the land (again), you’ll need to enter the Navel and stop him. This is an eight-player Trial, with two Tanks, two Healers, and four DPS. Below, we’ll take a look at everything you need to know about the Navel (Hard), including how to unlock it and how to beat Titan.

How To Unlock The Navel (Hard)

The intro title for The Navel (Hard), with orange rocks and crystals in the background.

There are a few quests you will need to complete before you unlock the Navel (Hard), the first of which is the final 2.0 Main Scenario Quest ‘The Ultimate Weapon’. After that, you can accept the quest ‘A Recurring Problem’ from Minfilia in The Waking Sands (X:6.9, Y:6.1).

This quest will begin a series of quests in which you unlock and fight the Hard versions of each of the three Primals, starting with Ifrit, then Garuda, and finally Titan.

The ques that unlocks the Navel (Hard) and Titan is ‘In a Titan Spot’, which can be accepted from Y’shtola in The Waking Sands (X:6.1, Y:5.1). This Duty has an item level requirement of 57.

Titan’s Attacks And Mechanics

Here are each of the attacks and mechanics Titan will use throughout this fight. More attacks are added as the fight progresses, but the order Titan uses them remains the same, so you can plan ahead.

Keep in mind that you can fall off the edge of the arena, and several of Titan’s attacks will knock you back or remove parts of the arena.

Attack Name

Type

Details

Landslide

Line AoE/Knockback

Deals damage in a line and knocks back hit players. Move outside of the AoE indicator to avoid this attack.

Tumult

Roomwide AoE

Titan will stomp several times in a row, dealing damage to all players. Recover with AoE healing.

Geocrush

AoE/Special

Titan will leap away before crashing back down onto the arena, dealing damage to all players and removing the outer edge of the arena, indicated by the red AoE. This attack deals more damage the closer to the center of the arena you are, so move close to the red AoE but not inside it to lessen the damage of this attack.

Weight of the Land

Circle AoEs

Creates several circle AoEs around the arena. Move out of the AoE indicators to avoid.

Bomb Boulders

AoE/Summon

Titan will spawn several Bomb Boulders in a sequence that will explode after a few seconds. Watch the order the bombs fall in; stand near the bombs that fall last to avoid the first explosions, then move into the newly created safe areas to avoid the rest of the bombs.

Granite Goal

Special

Traps one player in a Granite Goal, preventing them from taking action. The Gaol will begin casting Granite Sepulchre, which will deal massive damage to the trapped player. To avoid this, the rest of the party needs to attack the Granite Gaol to free the trapped player.

Earthen Fury

Roomwide AoE

Titan will deal unavoidable damage to all players after his Heart is destroyed. Recover with AoE healing.

Mountain Buster

Untelegraphed AoE

Titan will attack in a conal AoE to his front, dealing high damage. The Tank should face Titan away from the rest of the party to avoid hitting them with this attack.

Fight Walkthrough

This fight will proceed through several phases determined by Titan’s health threshold. Each time Titan uses Geocrush marks the beginning of a new phase, at which point Titan will change his attack rotation as well as add new attacks. Keep in mind that each Geocrush will make the arena just a bit smaller, and falling off the edge will result in insta-death.

Titan will repeat the attacks in each phase until you deal enough damage to move to the next phase.

Here are each of Titan’s phases and the order of attacks he uses in each.
