Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii's Ship Combat Used To Roast Skull & Bones

Summary

  • Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii recently showcased its goofy ship combat, which immediately caused people to start poking fun at Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones.
  • Twitter is now full of people mocking Skull & Bones, with many stunned that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios is making a proper Black Flag successor.
  • Even the recent showcase’s comments section on YouTube is filled with people roasting Skull & Bones to high heaven. Poor Ubisoft.

Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is one of several pirate-themed video games released over the past few years, though you could argue that it’s easily the most ridiculous. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios showcased that perfectly well in its recent showcase event, giving us our best look yet at all the systems in the game, along with some more of that silly ship combat.

However, despite looking incredibly daft, comparisons have already been made to the Ubisoft title Skull & Bones, which has gone from sinking ship to shipwreck over the course of the past year. Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii not only looked like it had taken the game’s ship combat and made it ridiculous, but it seems to have even built upon it, letting you board and fight the crew of an enemy ship.

it looks so impressive that people immediately flocked to social media after the showcase was over to stick the knife into Skull & Bones and give it a good strong twist, as the title was roasted to Hell and back. You’ll find plenty of tweets poking fun at Ubisoft (such as the one from Twitter user Rock solid above) for not being able to make a successful spiritual successor to Black Flag on a whopping budget, while Ryu Ga Gotoku has potentially done it with a fraction of the time and money.
