Netmarble has announced the upcoming closed beta test for their highly anticipated open-world RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, scheduled to begin on January 16, 2025, for Android and PC. An official adaptation of the blockbuster American drama series, the game was first teased in 2022, and officially unveiled last year at the G-STAR 2024 event.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is an open-world RPG and an official adaptation of the beloved Game of Thrones series, created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, which is an adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy novels series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
The game is a faithful adaptation of the series, featuring iconic characters such as Jon Snow, Olenna Tyrell, and more. From the latest gameplay trailer, I can see a resemblance to Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, with a tiny bit of The Witcher 3 vibe. In this game, however, you will get to play as a new character, with an exciting combat system and three combat classes, allowing you to use swords, bows, throwing knives, and more.

The good news is that Game of Thrones; Kingsroad is gearing up for its CBT, which will run from January 16, 2025, to January 22, 2025. However, this CBT will be available only to the US, Canada, and select parts of Europe, which is kind of a bummer for Asia-Pacific fans.
I am pretty excited about this CBT, even though I won’t be able to participate. We can get additional information about the game, its combat systems, characters, along with other features. I have completed the series, though I haven’t read the novels yet, I am curious to try out the game, which is set after the events of Season 4 of the original series.
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is set to start a regional closed-beta test on Android and PC from January 16 to January 22, 2025. You can sign up for the regional test via the official website until January 12, 2025. After the CBT is over, we can expect to learn the launch date, as the game is scheduled for 2025.
