A sequel to the 2014 free-to-play MOBA Smite, Smite 2 was revealed almost a decade after its predecessor’s release, promising an entirely revamped experience built using Unreal Engine 5. Like the original title, Smite 2 invites players to take on the guise of various legendary figures and Gods based on real-world pantheons, from Greek mythology to traditional Japanese deities. By the end of August 2024, players could choose from 23 Gods, with that number promising to swell to 50 by the end of January 2025. When Does the Smite 2 F2P Open Beta Begin?

A new 3v3 game mode, Joust, has also been announced for the F2P open beta. Featuring an Arthurian-themed area, players will be able to traverse the map using Teleporters, with Stealth Grass making it possible to surprise enemies. The same map will be used for Duel, a new 1v1 mode. Additionally, the new Aspects feature will offer a new twist on gameplay, with players able to trade a certain facet of their God’s build in exchange for a powerful boon. A number of quality-of-life features are also coming to Smite 2, including Role Guides, helpful messages to aid new players, PC text chat, item store improvements, death recaps, and much more. The title is available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
