Bringing Princess Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to life, one passionate fan pulls off an accurate cosplay of the popular video game character. Being an important part of Nintendo’s action-adventure franchise, Princess Zelda has appeared in nearly every entry in the long-running series, in addition to Tears of the Kingdom.

One of the most successful Zelda games, Tears of the Kingdom, came out in 2023 to widespread acclaim. It was not only a huge commercial hit, but also won developer Nintendo EPD a multitude of award recognitions. While Princess Zelda played a major role in Tears of the Kingdom, she got the spotlight all to herself in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom which rolled out in 2024. Notably, the game featured Princess Zelda as the protagonist for the first time ever, marking a refreshing change for longtime fans of the franchise. Recently, she also became the subject of one dedicated fan’s cosplay inspired by the character’s appearance in Tears of the Kingdom.

After Echoes of Wisdom and Tears of the Kingdom, one mechanic from recent Legend of Zelda games looks like it may be here to stay.

Reddit user MissKuruta96 posted a couple of pictures of her Princess Zelda cosplay, garnering praise from fans of the Nintendo IP. Evidently, the cosplay artist took notes from the pivotal Legend of Zelda character’s Tears of the Kingdom attire for putting together the look, including the makeup and the accessories. The identical green outfit, the elven ears, and the various ornaments are among the noteworthy features of the Zelda fan’s elaborate cosplay.

In the zelda subreddit, MissKuruta96’s cosplay post has been rapidly gaining upvotes at the time of writing, with fans heaping praise on her for the “gorgeous” recreation. Highlighting the commendable quality of the final look, one Reddit user jokingly asked, “What cutscene are [sic] these screenshots from?” The latest Princess Zelda cosplay is one among many well-received fan creations from the Legend of Zelda community. Besides coming up with accurate cosplays of characters like Ganondorf and Beedle, Zelda fans have also come up with other unique creations, such as a 3D-printed map of Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s Hyrule.

The Nintendo Switch generation so far has received multiple highly rated Zelda games, with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom standing out as landmark releases. As rumors of a Switch successor being revealed in 2025 continue to circulate, it is natural for fans to be excited about what the next iteration of Nintendo’s console could enable Zelda devs to build. And, if recent reports about the rumored Switch 2’s hardware power are anything to go by, it seems that players could be in for games that go way beyond the technical limitations of the current Switch console.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to the beloved open-world adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This installment once again sees Link and Zelda battling to protect Hyrule from falling to Ganondorf. This new adventure takes place in the same land of Hyrule as Breath of the Wild but sees something called the Upheaval, which allows link to travel to Sky Islands, as well as deep into the Depths beneath Hyrule. Players can use special abilities to fuse together weapons, and build items to help them progress through the release.
