Marvel Rivals Player Adds Spider-Man’s Symbiote Suit

Marvel Rivals Player Adds Spider-Man's Symbiote Suit

Summary

  • Marvel Rivals has a ton of skins and cosmetics, but that doesn’t mean it’s not missing some obvious ones.
  • Perhaps the biggest example of this is the lack of a Symbiote Spider-Man skin.
  • This has been fixed by Nexus Mods creator Stardom1, who has added the skin in themselves.

A Marvel Rivals player has created a mod for perhaps the most obvious cosmetic skin in the whole game – a Symbiote Suit for the Rivals version of Spider-Man.

Although the official designs for some of the heroes and villains in Marvel Rivals has seen a fair amount of criticism (looking at you, Wolverine), that hasn’t been such a problem since the game launched. Over the past few weeks, a ton of cosmetics and skins have been added for pretty much every character, giving players plenty of options to choose from.

Marvel Rivals Has A Progression Problem

Marvel Rivals is held back by a frustrating and monotonous battle pass, and unrewarding challenges.

As great as the current roster of optional cosmetics is, though, there are a few obvious omissions. While I’m sure that most of the ones that instantly spring to mind (I’m begging for a Fox X-Men skin for Wolverine!) are going to join the game at one point or another, that hasn’t stopped skilled modders from getting ahead of the curve.

Without a doubt the most obvious missing skin from Marvel Rivals right now is a Symbiote Suit for Spider-Man which, beyond his classic look, has become synonymous with the character in recent years. This is especially noticeable considering Venom is in the game and can even use a team-up move with Spider-Man that covers him a little in Symbiote substance.

While we all wait for NetEase Games to either make its own take on the Symbiote Suit or use one of the many designs from the movies or library of Spider-Man games, Nexus Mods creator Stardom1 has gone all Thanos and decided to do it themselves. This has resulted in one of the most popular mods on the site over the past few days, showing how much fans want the skin in Rivals.

As the name implies and as you’d expect from the concept, the Symbiote Spider-Man mod simply gives Spidey a black-and-white version of his default suit in Rivals. This is especially interesting considering the Symbiote skins we’re likely going to get for the game are going to be from the movies or comics, giving this one a bit more of a distinct flavour.

Sadly, the Nexus Mods page for the mod only has one image right now, but it does make it clear how the mod works. YouTuber Tree also showed a brief look at it in action in a video guiding players on how to install the mod, if you want a closer look. For now, though, it’s the closest thing we’ve got to a Symbiote Spider-Man skin in Rivals.
