Marvel Rivals players want Jeff’s ultimate changed so that enemies in the air can’t be caught by it. Jeff has been in the spotlight since the launch of Marvel Rivals because the little shark has a powerful ultimate that can turn the tide of a match.
After activating his ultimate, Jeff dives and creates an area where characters can be swallowed. When he reappears, he gobbles up allies and enemies within range. The Strategist hero quickly became the subject of heated debate within the Marvel Rivals community, as it was common for Jeff players to wipe out the entire enemy team by swallowing them up and throwing everybody off the edge of the map. Dealing with Jeff’s ult in Marvel Rivals isn’t easy, so a member of the community has shared an idea to make this task more doable.

Marvel Rivals Team Proves Even The Strangest Compositions Can Get The Job Done
As the Marvel Rivals community discovers the game’s strongest heroes, one player does the unexpected and wins a match with an unlikely team.
Redditor KevinPigaChu suggested that Jeff’s ultimate shouldn’t be able to swallow up enemies who aren’t on the ground. To illustrate their idea, the player shared a screenshot from the game showing Jeff’s ultimate being used on the first floor of one of the Marvel Rivals maps. Meanwhile, Groot appears on the second floor, but he is still within range of the land shark’s ability. Players used the comments section to agree with the OP’s suggestion and shared stories of how they were also caught out by his strongest ability despite flying with heroes like Iron Man and Storm.
Marvel Rivals Players Want Jeff’s Ultimate Hitbox Changed
The comments on KevinPigaChu’s post suggested two more changes to Jeff’s ult, one of them an adjustment to the visual effect to make it easier for the player to distinguish whether they are in or out of range. A second player asked for a reduction of the ult’s size, with others arguing that the size of the indicator doesn’t match the size of the skill. Because of this, Jeff can catch enemies outside the ult animation. Other Redditors also took the opportunity to comment that the hitbox issue is not exclusive to the hero, mentioning Cloak and Dagger’s ult, which is capable of causing damage to flying enemies, and Spider-Man’s uppercut.
NetEase released Marvel Rivals on December 6, and so far the shooter has received two updates. The first brought various fixes and general improvements to maps and the game’s heroes. The second patch was released recently and kicked off the Winter Celebration, which runs until January 8, 2025. Coincidentally, players who join in the new event can grab a new free winter-themed skin for Jeff in Marvel Rivals.
