Fortnite OG Bots Have Completely Taken Over the Game

Fortnite OG has taken things back to how Fortnite originally started, but there are some changes. One big one that’s been controversial has been the addition of Fortnite OG bots. These bots have already become a massive problem in Battle Royale, but now they’re at overpowering lobbies in Fortnite OG too.

When the game mode first launched, it was bot free. As the opening weekend always leads to a huge boost in player numbers, Epic didn’t use bots initially. To many players sick of PVE, this was a great weekend. It seemed like Fortnite OG was going to actually recreate the original experience, playing against real players.

Then a few days in bots got added anyway.

However, while at first bots were limited it seems they’re now everywhere. According to those who analyze match playback, Fortnite OG bots are now the vast majority of every lobby. How bad has it gotten?

Fortnite OG Bots Take Over Lobbies

In recent weeks, Fortnite OG bots have begun to appear in greater numbers. However, in a recent check, players found that there’s even more of them here than we thought. Fortnite OG bots are now up to 88 players per game.

To put that in context, it’s close to 9 out of 10 of the players most users see in a game. It’s incredibly likely you don’t see a real player until the very final circle now, if at all. These bot numbers are much higher than they were previously. It’s a staggering number that will have a real effect on gameplay.

It seems Battle Royale is also bordering on 80-90% bots at times. While at first OG had some bots, it was way less than Battle Royale, they’re now both tied with tons of bots in every lobby. It seems matchmaking differences can affect things, but the majority of games will feature this level of Fortnite OG Bots.

The game mode holds a nostalgic appeal to a lot of players, but clearly the use of heavy bots breaks that for some players. Bots don’t really help to re-create the type of gameplay we had in original Fortnite and make the game a bit boring. Hopefully, a fix to cut down on PVE in what’s supposed to be PVP Battle Royale can happen soon. It’s a bit unfulfilling to win a Fortnite game, to a bot walked into a wall in the final circle.
