Ever since Spotify Wrapped started summarizing what we’d been listening to for the past 12 months at the end of each year, anything that can be summed up in a similar way has followed suit. That includes video game platforms, and with Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo all giving users their breakdowns, today it’s Steam‘s turn, as its annual Steam Replay is ready for you to take a look at.
Those of you who check out your Steam breakdown at the end of each year will notice it has returned to its original name. Steam labeled it a Year In Review in 2023 but has reverted to the far cleaner Steam Replay for 2024. As for what Steam Replay runs down, it’s pretty similar to all the other video game wrap-ups which makes sense since all we really want to know is what we played and how long we played for.

PlayStation Wrap-Up is back, letting players look back on what they’ve played over the past 12 months.
First up is how many games you’ve played this year. What might have been fun, and maybe a suggestion for next year if anyone from Valve is reading this, is having how many games you played vs. how many you bought. Almost everyone who uses Steam regularly will have bought quite a few games in various sales that they’ve not gotten around to, or may never play in the future. They were so cheap though, it would have been silly not to buy them, right?

As is the case with some of the other annual video game breakdowns, Steam Replay not only reveals how many hours you spend playing games on the platform, but also how many gaming sessions those hours were spread over. Perfect not only for working out how many hours you spent glued to Helldivers and Hades‘ sequels, but also how long you spent playing them on average each time you fired up Steam.
Here’s hoping the creator of
Balatro
doesn’t do an individual wrap-up for their hugely popular card game. I really don’t need to see those numbers.
The one thing Steam Replay has that the other gaming wrap-ups don’t is a chart showing how long you spend on your PC vs. your Steam Deck. Always fun to find out you spent 90 percent of your year on a handheld device while the PC you spent $3,000 on sat there watching you. Nintendo normally has a docked vs. handheld breakdown but appears to have omitted that detail from its own wrap-up which went live on Wednesday evening.
