Summary
- The game offers various weapons beyond the revolver and whip, including a wooden mallet, spade, glass bottle, and Nazi machine gun.
- The wooden mallet is a powerful two-handed weapon found in Gizeh; the glass bottle can distract enemies or be used to knock them out.
- Machine guns carried by Nazis in Gizeh and Sukhothai provide heavy firepower in the game but come with limited ammo and cannot be found in The Vatican.
While Indy has two default weapons in his revolver and whip, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle wouldn’t be much of a video game if that was what you were stuck with for the entirety of the story.

9 Hidden Areas Everyone Completely Missed In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
Since the map in Indiana Jones And The Great Circle is full of tunnels and caves, there are hidden areas lots of players will have missed.
Thankfully, the game is full of weapons for you to find and pick up. There are one-handed melee weapons, massive two-handed weapons you can swing wildly, and guns you can use conventionally or as tools to hit Nazis with. However, there are some weapons that are a lot better than others. You can ignore some if you find them, or grab others if you stumble across them.

Wooden Mallet
Since Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set in the early 20th century, not all of the tools you’ll find are particularly advanced. You can find sledgehammers, guns, and even flyswatters, but arguably the best two-handed weapons you can find is the wooden mallet.
The best place to find it is around the dig sites in Gizeh. Pick one up and you’ll be able to bash Nazis on the head with what is essentially a tree stump on a stick. Even beyond the damage that is done, it’s funny to see.
6
Dig Site Worker’s Spade
Some weapons are exclusive to particular disguises you can find throughout The Great Circle. Once you’re in Gizeh, you’ll be able to get the Dig Site Worker disguise, which allows you to freely explore parts of the open area.
Once you have the disguise, the default weapon for it is the spade, which makes a really satisfying ding when you hit a Nazi with it. It’s the equivalent of the revolver or the Nazi pistol when you have the disguise equipped.
5
Glass Bottle
Weapons are great in The Great Circle when they can be used in multiple ways. Not only are glass bottles useful for whacking Nazis around the head to knock them out, but you can use them to distract enemies too.

Indiana Jones And The Great Circle: Locus Boss Fight Guide
Locus and Indy will come face to face a few times in Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, but beating him isn’t easy.
If you’re someone who prefers to sneak around, you can throw a bottle to lead an enemy away from your position. Therefore, no matter what situation you get yourself into, the glass bottle can be used to get you out of it.
4
Nazi Machine Gun
When it comes to pure firepower, the machine gun that you’ll find Nazis carrying in Gizeh and Sukhothai are the best in the game. They’re not very Indy, who prefers the lack of lethality of melee weapons and his whip, but they’re perfect if you want to pile up the Nazi bodies when they start attacking.
You can grab them from enemy camps in the second and third open areas, or pick them up off the ground once you’ve knocked an enemy who’s carrying one out. The only downside is that you only get one clip of ammo. Once you’re out, you need to drop the gun and find another.
You won’t be able to find machine guns in The Vatican, mostly because you won’t be powerful enough to counter them.
3
Any Pistol (As A Melee Weapon)
The pistols in The Great Cicle aren’t the most reliable weapons. They’re not that powerful and they shoot really slowly. Indy’s revolver is even worse if you don’t have the books that upgrade the reload skill.
However, use them as a melee weapon and they’ll be quick and lethal. You can press X if you’re on Xbox or E if you’re on PC to make any weapon a melee weapon. However, after a few uses, you’ll need to use a repair kit to bring it back to being useable.
Thankfully, those repair kits can be found all over the place in every level.
2
Guitar
While the guitar isn’t better than any other medium-sized melee weapon you can pick up in The Great Circle, it is great for two particular reasons. First, the way it crumbles when it breaks is so satisfying. It’s like you’re a guitar player in the ’80s smashing it over a bandmate’s head.

6 Hardest Achievements To Unlock In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
Indiana Jones will definitely give you a challenge to dig up these treasured achievements.
Secondly, you also get an achievement for knocking an enemy out with a guitar if you’re able to find one. Thankfully, you should spot them lying around in most enemy camps in any of the game’s three open areas.
1
Hammer
The hammer works just like any other melee weapon in The Great Circle. You can swap it out for a wrench, a frying pan, or any small metal item, but hammers are best because of how common they are.
The hammer does all the same things as any other melee weapon, it’s simply a lot more common than any other.
You’ll find them in all of the game’s open areas, during the linear sections, and littering all of the enemy camps you’ll infiltrate. They might not be the most exciting of weapons, but they’re the most reliable.
