Tokyo Ghoul fans have been deprived of any major news for a long time, but it seems that things are about to change. In a new report, it was revealed that the Tokyo Ghoul anime will have a special stage for its 10th anniversary on December 21, 2025.
While fans will certainly be excited by the announcement, they will try not to get their hopes up. There was a similar announcement earlier this year, and it turned out to be an art exhibition called Tokyo Ghoul EX. So, they know better than to get their hopes up early.

Subsequently, Sui Ishida announced a sequel called Tokyo Ghoul: re in October 2014. It is set two years after the events of the original manga, and it introduces a brand-new cast of characters. Tokyo Ghoul: re came to an end in October 2018.
Sui Ishida’s manga has been nominated for multiple awards, which is a testament to the author’s skill and the quality of the story. Both manga series have done well in terms of sales. Based on the latest available report, Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: re have collectively sold more than 47 million copies. It is worth noting that the report is from 2021, so the new number is likely to be higher. It is possible that they must have sold more than 50 million copies by now.
The first anime adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul was released on July 4, 2014. The second season aired between January 9 and March 27, 2015. After Tokyo Ghoul, the studio decided to work on Tokyo Ghoul: re. The first episode of Tokyo Ghoul: re aired on April 3, 2018, and the finale was released on June 19, 2018.
