@Pepsi

I’m with you, man. I’m slowly seeing more and more people accept this model. Like, I can’t tell you how many people say, “But this is Live Service done right.”

Every time I hear that it makes me want to puke my f*cking guts out. I rarely ever see anyone question WHY they decided to go with the GaaS model instead of a traditional design and the only reason is MONETIZATION.

I mean look at what happened to the Arkham series for chrissakes and all the Gacha games being popular, the industry chases trends. It’s all about this model makes more money than this model so let’s make ALL games like this. You can bet dollars to donuts if corporate had their way, every f*cking game would be like a mobile game with pay walls, ridiculous menus to navigate that are all about buying this and that, purposefully making the game an absolute chore to progress without paying money to alleviate the grind, it’s absolutely disgusting.

And what’s crazy is GaaS success does not have a great track record. It’s like 1 out of 10 make it and how does it make any sense to make so many of these and expect a consumer to dump continuous money into all of them.

It’s so annoying and I’m sickened that Sony is still pushing for this.
