The Elder Scrolls: Legends Shutdown Cover
  • The Elder Scrolls: Legends is an award-winning card-collecting strategy game based on the Elder Scrolls series.
  • All items in the store and entry into in-game events will be available for just 1 Gold each until January 30, 2025.
  • There won’t be an offline version of the game available after the shutdown.

Bethesda Softworks LLC is set to shut down the service of the beloved strategy card title, The Elder Scrolls: Legends, on January 30, 2025. Based on the Elder Scrolls series, the game will be shutting down after 7 years of service without an offline version.

For those who may not have found out about this gem of a game, The Elder Scrolls: Legends is an award-winning card-collecting strategy title based on the Elder Scrolls series, which was released on March 9, 2017. In this game, you can enjoy various campaigns, from tales of The Dark Brotherhood to the fabled Clockwork City, and more, and participate in exciting turn-based card battles.

Unfortunately, the game will terminate its services next year on January 30, 2025. Upon logging into the game, you will receive an in-game message about the shutdown, stating “The Elder Scrolls: Legends servers will permanently shut down on January 30, 2025.

Fans are disheartened and upset by the sudden announcement

After the termination date, the “servers will be shut down and the game will be inaccessible” as mentioned in the message. However, one good thing is that the game is compensating the small yet loyal fanbase by promising “all items in the store and entry into in-game events will be available for 1 Gold each.” Thanks to this, you can enjoy all the content the game has to offer until January 30.

Fans are unhappy and angry about the shutdown notice, especially since the devs have no plan for an offline version of the game. Some fans have even started petitions to either stop the shutdown or provide offline access. While I didn’t play the game, it’s still unfortunate to see all the fans disheartened by this news. For a studio like Bethesda Softworks LLC, they can make the game offline.
