Since there’s just one primary mode in UFL, you don’t need to know how to play with friends across a variety of modes. Once you’ve learned the multiplayer systems, you’ll be all set to play against your friends whenever you want to.
How To Play With Friends
The way to play with friends online is a little bit complicated – at least more so than it is in other online multiplayer games. From the main menu, you need to head to Online and choose the Casual option. There, you get the choice to choose between playing a random player online, creating a lobby, or joining an existing lobby.
To invite a friend, you need to choose to create a lobby. On that tab, start the lobby and the game will say it’s searching and give you a lobby code. You need to send that code to your friend however you’d like and wait for them to join. You can then each choose your teams and jump into a game.
There is no way to invite friends to match using the friends list on your console.
You can also join a multiplayer lobby with your friend by entering a code yourself. Choose the Join tab and get the code from your friend. Enter it into the box in-game and you’ll join your friend’s lobby.
How To Play Local Multiplayer
If you want to play with a friend from the comfort of your own couch, you can do so online or offline. From the Casual Online menu, you can connect a second controller to your console and press a button to connect it. You’ll then be able to play against someone else online as a two player co-op team.
The best way to play locally is to head to the main menu and choose Local. You can then connect controllers and pick which team you want to use. You can use real-world teams that are in the game or your own created UFL team. Then, choose the settings and jump in.
The licensed real-world teams in UFL are limited, so you’re best using your created team.
