Jujutsu Kaisen: The One Spin-off That Absolutely Needs To Happen
JJK ended earlier this year. The series still has potential and needs a spin-off.
However, that certainly doesn’t mean that the author can’t go on to expand upon the events of the story in some other way in the future. While some fans are holding out for a proper sequel, others believe that JJK will get a spin-off mini-series at some point, or at the very least, a one-shot. While the chances of the series receiving a sequel are close to none, a one-shot or a spin-off isn’t too far-fetched of an idea. In case the series ever does get a continuation in any way, fans would absolutely love to know what the role of the Gojo clan would be going forward and how the author would elaborate upon them.
What Fans Know About The Gojo Clan So Far
The Gojo Clan Is Shrouded In Mystery
It is clear that Gege Akutami is quite a good author and that he delivered one of the most exciting stories in recent times with JJK. But, it goes without saying that his handling of many aspects of the story was subpar. The manner in which Gege expanded upon the concept of the three big families was certainly not good, regardless of what diehard fans think. In fact, fans know very little about how the three clans even work, especially the Gojo clan. The vast majority of the relevance of this clan came from Gojo, who fans know to be the face of the entire franchise. Taking Gojo out of the equation, fans know little to none about this Clan, which is certainly a problem and goes to show that the worldbuilding in this particular series, where multiple factions and clans exist, is not up to the standard.
He’s the head of the Gojo clan!!
What fans know about the Gojo clan is that they were one of the most important factions in Japan and that, at the same time, they held a certain level of monopoly over Jujutsu society. Because of Gojo, they enjoyed quite a lot of power and, in many ways, immunity as well. Goja himself has made use of this immunity on many occasions and used his influence to save people like Yuji and Yuta from certain deaths. At the same time, the only other thing that fans know about the people of the Gojo clan is that they stem from Michizane no Sugawara, who is known to have been a vengeful spirit in the past. Other than that, the Gojo clan, which is certainly very powerful, has no information revealed about them by the author, which is sad, to say the least. In many ways, the Gojo Clan, one of the three big clans in JJK, exists purely For Satoru.
If Gojo is taken out of the equation, this clan essentially would collapse upon itself, at least based on what the series has told the fans so far. At the same time, if this clan is removed from the story, nothing much would change in the world of JJK at all, which just goes to show that the author has not done a good job at elaborating upon it, and at the same time, a sequel series, whichever form it may come in, would need to properly elaborate upon it.
Why Satoru’s Death Matters For The Gojo Clan
Satoru’s Death Has Put The Gojo Clan In Danger
It shouldn’t be hard for fans to understand the predicament of the Gojo clan right now. JJK has certainly ended, but fans can always discuss the politics of this world due to the outcome of the major Shinjuku Showdown War. Of course, the biggest event in the Shinjuku showdown was the defeat and death of Gojo. Gojo fought Sukuna in a very exciting battle, and he was certainly neck and neck with him in this fight.
In fact, on many occasions, Gojo even held the advantage in this battle, which just went on to show his tremendous might. The fact is that Gojo was not just fighting against Sukuna and his Shrine cursed technique, but also Megumi and his 10 Shadows Technique. Putting up with two of the strongest techniques was certainly too much for him at one point, and thanks to Mahoraga, he was able to win this battle for good.
Farewell, Gojo Satoru! I shall never forget you for as long as I live! – Sukuna
After his death, the other sorcerers jumped into battle and essentially took care of Sukuna as well. It was Yuji who finally defeated the King of Curses for good and dealt the final blow to him as well. Clearly, everyone was happy after the conclusion of the major battles in JJK and the fact that the vast majority of characters survived.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The One Spin-off That Absolutely Needs To Happen
JJK ended earlier this year. The series still has potential and needs a spin-off.
But, at the same time, fans also need to look at the repercussions of the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. Gojo’s death is especially going to change the world greatly, and fans know that it means that the consequences for his family are going to be absolutely massive. Sotoru was the leader of the Gojo clan, and with his death, the clan would need a new head. Not just that, but a good chunk of the power of the Gojo clan will be stripped from them now, which essentially means that they have to look for alternatives in one way or another.
What Role Could The Gojo Clan Play In The Future Of JJK?
Gojo Clan Could Look To Reassert Dominance
As mentioned previously, fans know absolutely nothing about the Gojo clan. They have been one of the big three Clans in the JJK world for quite a long, which means that, for what it’s worth, Gojo wasn’t the sole source of their political influence and strength. Surely, he gave them a major advantage, but, they aren’t powerless without him. They must be some members of the Gojo Clan who are quite powerful themselves, even without the usage of the Six Eyes and the Limitless. At the same time, it must also be remembered that the members of the Gojo Clan will always have access to these special powers.
The trait known as the Six Eyes will show up in someone else after Gojo’s death, because it has to keep showing up, no matter what. Similarly, some other members of the Gojo clan will eventually go on to inherit the Limitless cursed technique as well, and once again, this is inevitable too. The most likely outcome here is that the Gojo clan will mostly try to continue their line in an effort to give birth to someone with the Limitless, or, at the very least, the Six Eyes. Giving birth to someone with both is going to be very difficult, given that Gojo was the first in 400 years to possess both powers at the same time.
Still, luck could shine upon the Gojo family and there could be another individual born with the power of both the Six Eyes and the Limitless at the same time. Even then, if they have just one of these powers, they would still give them a massive advantage, and at least save face for this clan politically.
It is also possible that there are other powerful members in the Gojo Clan that fans don’t know. Regardless, if JJK continues, the author would have to elaborate upon the Gojo clan and show fans how exactly it functions, especially after the death of Satoru. Furthermore, fans would also get to see how this major family moves against the others, possibly in an effort to seize control over the overarching Jujutsu society and become the sole dominant power.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
