Fortnite Chapter 6 Tournaments Guide
FNCS Fortnite Chapter 6 Tournaments
The first tournaments to start us off will be the FNCS trial! This is a new type of qualifier for the FNCS. It sorts players into tiers depending on their skill level, helping to smooth out the qualification process for the NCS.
The top 200 trios in the event go to Division 1. Each week, these players get a shot at qualifying for the main FNCS. Division 2 and 3 will be for lower ranking players, and competing for promotion to Division 1. This will mean most of the best Fortnite players contained in one lobby for the weekly events.
This is taking place on December 7th. It’s a very early start for the FNCS this season. You’ll have to be up to date with all the changes before then to compete.
Battle Royale Ranked Cups
One type of tournament that’s returning this season is the Battle Royale Ranked Cups. These events are held each weekend. Players can compete to earn free Fortnite cosmetics. Anyone who gets 50 points gets the Ranker’s Shogun ‘Brella, a version of the season’s Victory Brella.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Tournaments – Cash Cups
Along with those major tournaments, there are still some cash cups for the season. However, these have been simplified. Partly due to Epic shifting the cash prizes for the events around. These are the tournaments running regularly this season:
- Performance Evaluation Events
- Solo BR Cups
- Fortnite OG Cups
- PlayStation Cup
That it this season! The more cheater-heavy events seem to have been discontinued so ar. Although, we can probably expect an occasional cup or two. Usually, to celebrate certain new skins we get extra Fortnite esports events to play through.
Competitive Changes – Cheating
One major focal point moving into Chapter 6 was the promise to crackdown on Fortnite cheaters. We know a bit more about this now Epic’s provided the competitive changes for the game new season.
Epic’s making a few changes to ensure tournaments are safe from cheaters. One major difference is moving cash prizes to higher in the competitive ecosystem. To remove the incentive to cheat, by only giving out cash at larger, more organized tournaments. Any caught cheater will also be hit with a 28-day ban, which increased with subsequent cases. Anyone who gets a ban for 14 days or longer will be barred from the FNCS for that season.
Another major change is taking legal action against cheat seller and those using them. They may also include more requirements to verify a player before tournaments. This could mean going further than Fortnite MFA like they currently use.
These changes should help ensure we get a more even playing field for the upcoming FNCS events and cash cups. These have become a problem recently. However, things are looking a bit smoother for the Fortnite Chapter 6 tournaments.
