Clash Royale: Best War Decks

Clash Royale: Best War Decks

Clash Royale is a highly dynamic mobile game where your tactics and strategies decide whether you win or lose. Clans are an important part of the game. When you’re part of a Clan, you can not only communicate with your friends in the Clan to discuss strategies, but you can also trade or request specific cards to help upgrade them faster.

The biggest benefit of being in a Clan in Clash Royale is that you can access the seasonal Clan Wars that reward you with free cards and items each month. However, to participate in the Clan Wars, you also need a solid set of War Decks that you can use to win your duels against your opponents. We’ll showcase the best War Deck out there for Clash Royale if you’re having trouble putting together one yourself.

What are War Decks in Clash Royale

clash-royale-clan-wars-overview

War Decks, also known as Duel Decks, are four decks with 32 unique card combinations that you can use to participate in the weekly Clan battles. Each of the decks in your War Deck must be completely unique, and you can’t use one card for two different decks.

You can access and modify your War Decks by switching to the Clan Wars tab and clicking on the Clan button twice at the bottom of your screen in Clash Royale. From here, click on any active events, such as Duel, Ramp Up Battle, or Battle, and click on Edit Deck. You can change to different decks to swap out your cards and figure out the best combinations for your War Deck from this window.

The key to creating the perfect decks for your War Deck in Clash Royale is to switch up your strategies. For example, going with four cycle decks is a bad idea as the enemy will be able to counter you easily. Switching up your playstyle with different win conditions is essential to winning your Clan War games consistently.

The card levels in War Decks doesn’t get boosted to tournament standards.

Best War Decks in Clash Royale

The Best War Decks in Clash Royale currently consists of four decks that use the best win conditions and cards in the game.

  • Goblinstein RamRider IWiz Evo EDrag
  • Wall Breakers Evo MK Miner
  • LH Double Dragon
  • Prince Log Bait

These decks give you plenty of variety and allow you to counter a variety of meta decks that you might face during Clan Wars. You’ll find more information on how to use these decks below:

Goblinstein RamRider IWiz Evo EDrag

Card Name

Elixir Cost

Evo Pekka

7

Evo Electro Dragon

5

Rage

2

Tornado

3

Royal Ghost

3

Ice Wizard

3

Ram Rider

5

Goblinstein

5

Not only is this deck great as part of a War Deck, but it’s also one of the best decks to get to Ultimate Champion in the game. With both the Evo Pekka and Evo Electro Dragon thrown in, along with the new champion Goblinstein, you’ll have plenty of ways to deal with any of your opponent’s offensive troops.

It’s a bridge-spam deck that uses the Ram Rider and the Royal Ghost to keep the pressure up. You’ve also got the Rage spell to buff up your Ram Rider so that it gets a connection with its dash. Tornado also gives you plenty of outplay potential if you use it properly.

This deck uses the Cannoneer Tower Troop.

Wall Breakers Evo MK Miner

Evo Mega Knight

7

Evo Bats

2

Wall Breakers

2

Zap

2

Barbarian Barrel

2

Miner

3

Bandit

3

Musketeer

4

The Evo Mega Knight combined with spammy cards like Evo Bats, Wall Breakers, Miner, and Bandit makes for another solid deck that goes well with this War Deck. It’s a fast-cycle deck that constantly forces your opponent to defend. Your goal with this deck is to keep the pressure up to whittle down your opponent’s tower slowly.

As for your defense, the Evo Mega Knight pretty much handles everything on his own. You’ve also got the Musketeer and the Barbarian Barrel to lend a hand if you need more DPS against strong beatdown decks.

Both Dagger Duchess and Tower Princess work well with this deck.

LH Double Dragon

Card Name

Evo Bomber

2

Evo Goblin Cage

4

Arrows

3

Guards

3

Skeleton Dragons

4

Inferno Dragon

4

Lightning

6

Lava Hound

7

Speaking of Beatdown decks, Lava Hound is one of the most reliable win conditions in the game. This slow-moving air tank can win you Clan War games easily if you pair it with the right support troops.

The third deck of this War Deck takes a slower approach than the first two. You want to build up a slow push with the Lava Hound at the back while defending with your Evo Goblin Cage and Guards. Put the Inferno Dragon behind your Lava Hound to take out any defensive buildings and the Skeleton Dragons to defend against Bats or Minion Horde.

Lava Hound decks typically use the Cannoneer Tower Troop.

Prince Log Bait

Evo Goblin Barrel

The Log

2

Dart Goblin

3

Goblin Gang

3

Princess

3

Rascals

5

Prince

A Log Bait-style deck can often catch people off-guard in Clan Wars. That’s why it’s always a good idea to have at least one variant of it in your War Deck. The one that we recommend uses the Prince and the Evo Knight, two solid and reliable mini-tanks in the meta. You’ve also got Rascals and Dart Goblins to apply pressure when needed.

But the true star of the show, of course, is the Evo Goblin Barrel. Cycle through your deck smartly to apply dual lane pressure when you know you have an elixir advantage and watch your opponent scramble to try and defend both lanes at the same time.

For this deck go with the Tower Princess Tower Troop.

Alternative Clash Royale Decks to Use in War Decks

clash royale cards

If you’re a free-to-play player or new to the game, there’s a good chance you won’t have many of these cards maxed out. That means you’ll be playing at a disadvantage when you’re going up against an opponent during Clan Wars.

Here are a few alternative deck types you can try with other cards that are performing well in the meta:

Hog Cycle Decks

No win condition is as iconic as the Hog Rider in Clash Royale. While the arrival of cards like Goblin Drill or Royal Hogs made this card lose a lot of its magic, it’s still an excellent card when you use it right. Building a Hog Rider deck is pretty easy since it mostly uses Rare and Common Cards, making it a viable choice for your War Deck.

Golem Beatdown Decks

clash-royale-golem-epic-card

Golem, when backed up with the right support cards, can easily decimate your opponent’s towers in one big push. While Golem is an Epic Card and requires levels to become strong, it’s still much easier to build compared to decks that use a lot of Legendaries. If you’ve got your Mother Witch or Night Witch upgraded to a decent level, consider using a Golem Deck for your War Deck instead of Lava Hound.

X-Bow Decks

clash-royale-x-bow-collage

X-Bow decks require a degree of skill to pull off. Counting elixir and keeping track of your opponent’s cycle is essential if you want to secure wins with X-Bow decks. But then again, there’s nothing quite like the feeling you get when you get a successful connection on the opponent’s towers and defend your win condition perfectly. X-Bow decks are pretty one-dimensional, but if you’ve upgraded the required cards, you can easily win Clan War games with a solid X-Bow Deck.

The Clan Wars offers a fantastic opportunity for players to earn some extra Gold and free cards simply for participating. With your War Deck set up with four of your strongest decks you’ll be able to secure many wins, claim your share of the Clan Chest prize, and help put your Clan’s name on the leaderboard in Clash Royale.
