The latest update for Starfield is a huge win for players who love hunting for achievements, as Creations no longer block these rewards. Before the 1.14.74 update, Creations in Starfield weren’t achievement-friendly, causing a frustrating obstacle for players who have an affinity for collecting as many achievements as possible. Thankfully, that is completely changed now, as mods crafted through the Verified Creators program will allow for achievements if enabled by the creator.
Starfield‘s newest update is no small patch. The 1.14.74 update has made extensive quality-of-life improvements that include frame rates, fixing over 30 bugs, and making achievement-blocking a problem of the past. While Starfield has had a bumpy road since its launch, the various updates Bethesda has put out for the game have been met with a lot of positivity, and finally making Creations achievement-friendly is a big win for this particular type of gamer.

Starfield’s Creations Update is a Game-Changer For How Certain Players Approach Bethesda’s Sci-Fi RPG
Through the years, Bethesda has become well-known as a developer that embraces fan mods. Mods are one of the many reasons why Skyrim and Fallout 4 have continued to live on so many years later. While a lot of mods can be found on platforms like Nexus Mods, the developer boasts its own platform with the Creation Club. Mod enthusiasts are able to build a portfolio through their work with Bethesda’s Creation Kit and apply to become part of the Verified Creator program. If selected, modders can then earn royalties through their creative works. As Starfield works to improve, official Creations have helped bring the experience to even greater heights, but the lack of achievement-enabled content was a sore spot for these mods.
Unfortunately, achievements will not unlock for previous saves with Creations. Even if the mod creator has now enabled these rewards, Bethesda has confirmed it will not give players the achievement.
It hasn’t been an easy journey for Starfield‘s Creations, though. Launched back in June of this year, the Creation Club has been met with criticism from some users, claiming that some mods available on the platform are too expensive. While this is an understandable point of frustration, there are also plenty of free mods available as well. However, for players who are in search of a specific experience, having to pay extra for mods that aren’t guaranteed long-term support is concerning. Despite the controversy that has circulated around some aspects of the platform, the allowance of achievement-accessibility is great news.
Starfield Can Now Be a More Complete Experience For Achievement Hunters
While it’s strange that the Creations platform didn’t launch with enabled achievements from the start, it was at least not a permanent roadblock. Of course, not every player enjoys trying to collect every possible achievement, but making Starfield a strong experience for all corners of the player base is important in helping its longevity. Finding achievements in Starfield, or any game, can be a rewarding experience. Not having to compromise mods for the sake of achievement hunting is a major step forward for the space-based RPG, and it hopefully bodes well for any future updates on the horizon.
Alongside the 1.14.74, players can download a free land vehicle add-on Creation called the Deimog.
Starfield may have a lot of ground to cover before it reaches the same heights as Bethesda’s past titles, but improvements like the 1.14.74 update are promising. Despite its divisiveness, Starfield still has many great qualities that could help ensure its future. While there still may be issues with some of the prices of Creations, it’s a relief that players will no longer have to choose between expanding one’s experience with mods and achievements.
