Next Naughty Dog Game Will Have A Role for Troy Baker

We don’t know what Naughty Dog‘s next game will be yet, but one thing is guaranteed: Troy Baker will have a role in it. That comes from Neil Druckmann himself, who says he will “always” work with Baker.

This is mentioned in GQ Magazine‘s profile on Troy Baker (thanks, Eurogamer), which goes over his approach to taking on new roles. Now, with countless successes under his belt, it’s said that Baker is being much more selective, but that doesn’t mean he’s skipping out on Naughty Dog’s next project.

Neil Druckmann would work with Baker again “in a heartbeat”

The profile mentions some of Baker’s very few upcoming projects since he has started taking on fewer roles. Right now, the only ones being mentioned are Judas from BioShock director Ken Levine, and whatever Naughty Dog is working on.

Neil Druckmann is then quoted as saying this on the matter: “In a heartbeat I would always work with Troy.”

If it isn’t working on The Last of Us Part 3, what is Naughty Dog up to?

Whatever Naughty Dog is working on, we’re still waiting for a scrap of information. Druckmann recently revealed that the studio’s next game has been in development since 2020, so hopefully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out what it is.

What we do know is that it isn’t The Last of Us Part 3, so don’t take Baker’s comments to mean that Joel will feature in the next game in a flashback. The Last of Us Part 3 is still planned, it just doesn’t appear to be a priority for the studio right now, so we have no idea when that will be with us.
