Best AMES 85 Builds In BO6

The AMES 85 is one of the easier assault rifles to use in Black Ops 6. What this weapon lacks in raw firepower it makes up for in high accuracy and fire rate. It is incredibly easy to kill targets from 50 meters and beyond with this weapon, provided you install a few recoil attachments.

While it won’t outduel most assault rifles in an ideal environment, the AMES 85 is an excellent weapon for players who prefer accuracy over raw TTK potential. In this guide, we will be going over two powerful builds for the AMES 85 that help mitigate its slow TTK while leveraging its high accuracy to make this an excellent pick for both MP and Zombies.

Multiplayer AMES 85 Build

The AMES doesn’t have a great TTK by default, which is why we’re recommending the Rapid Fire mod as your first attachment. This gives you a fairly large 11% RPM buff in exchange for a massive increase to recoil. Fortunately for you, this recoil is easy to mitigate through other attachments.

A Compensator and Vertical Grip are required to keep this weapon under control, but these two attachments are all you’ll need. You can reliably kill targets from 30+ meters with this setup, making it perfect for larger maps. Use any optic if you don’t like the iron sights, and use a Quickdraw Grip to drastically reduce the weapon’s ADS time.

Loadout Recommendations

Assault rifles are quite flexible for aggressive and anchor-heavy play, so we recommend the Strategist specialty here. Flak Jacket makes you highly resistant to enemy explosives, and Guardian will trigger HP regeneration shortly after you capture or defend an objective. Fast Hands is useful for quickly swapping weapons. If you’re running Perk Greed as your Wildcard, throw Tac Mask into the mix to mitigate the effects of Stuns and Flashbangs.

Gunfighter AMES 85 Build

This is similar to our Multiplayer build with a few extra attachments through the Gunfighter Wildcard. We highly recommend you install a Target Laser onto the AMES if you plan to use it at longer distances, as this greatly increases the ADS sway delay. In other words, the gun won’t sway on its own during a gunfight, at least for the first four seconds.

Your other two attachments are more down to preference. We recommend an Extended Mag I for a larger magazine and the Long Barrel for a sizable increase to the gun’s effective range. If you plan on using this gun in Warzone, consider an Extended Mag II instead to make this weapon truly shine in long-range duels.

Loadout Recommendations

We’re recommending the same loadout as before for Multiplayer. Strategist is great for earningscorestreaks quickly by playing the objective. Use Gunfighter in place of Perk Greed, and drop Tac Mask from the build. Everything else remains the same.
