Dragon Age: The Veilguard – The Hall of Valor Combat Guide

Dragon Age: The Veilguard - The Hall of Valor Combat Guide

Although the Rivaini Coast is the Lords of Fortune’s “territory” in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, their headquarters is in a different location. To find the faction’s merchant and their leader, Isabela, you’ll need to visit the Hall of Valor.

The Hall of Valor is also where you can fight an unlimited number of enemies. By speaking to Isabela, you can start a fight against any of the game’s enemy types. The rewards end after your first ten victories, but even after that, it’s a good place to practice your Dragon Age: The Veilguard combat techniques and ally combinations.

What Enemies to Expect in the Hall of Valor

Dragon Age Veilguard Hall of Valor Fighting Pit

You can always start a fight in the Hall of Valor by speaking to Isabela. You’ll find her on the highest level of the hall, with a beacon close by. If you feel like swapping party members to try new combinations, this is the best place to experiment.

The Hall of Valor features a total of eight enemy types, and each type has several specific groups the game randomly chooses from. You’ll face each type of enemy once during the first eight rounds, but your enemies are completely randomized after that. These enemy types are:

  • Undead
  • Mercenaries
  • Darkspawn
  • Demons
  • Antaam
  • Fade-Touched Creatures
  • Venatori
  • Deep Roads Creatures

Enemy groups can include a lot of weak creatures, a few strong creatures, or even a single powerful creature. For instance, a Deep Roads fight can be against a pack of deepstalkers, or a single powerful construct.

Here are some general tips for Hall of Valor fights:

  • There’s no way to predict what enemies you’ll face in the pit, so keep your options open when it comes to damage types. Try not to bring two companions who deal the same type of damage, and choose abilities that deal a variety of damage types or else focus on physical damage.
  • The giant open pit in the center of the arena is instant death to any enemy who falls in. Take advantage of it when using abilities that push opponents.
  • Each time you finish a fight, Veilguard will reset you to full health, full potions, and zero ultimate. Don’t be afraid to spend whatever resources you need to win.
  • None of the fights are particularly hard. You can complete the Hall of Valor quest as soon as you open the area.
  • Remember that you can redistribute your ability points for Rook and all your companions at any point, and to any extent. The Hall of Valor is the perfect place to try out new abilities, items, and builds.
