  • The Black Flash Vs Sukuna Triggered The Shrine Awakening
  • Yuji’s Shrine Is Still Not Perfect

Yuji Itadori awakened the Shrine cursed technique in the battle against Sukuna. Naturally, Yuji’s awakening of this technique did not come as a surprise to fans. This is because, at the very beginning of the series, Gojo had already predicted that Yuji would gain access to Sukuna’s cursed technique. Having confirmed it through the Six Eyes, Gojo knew that Yuji was essentially being bathed in Sukuna’s cursed energy, which meant that he, too, was starting to gain access to his techniques. With time, Yuji was surely going to get access to Sukuna’s power, and it was only a matter of when. Thankfully for the fans, this came in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc of JJK, which was at the very end of the series.

Beneath the sparks of black, Yuji Itadori awakens! – Narrator

Obviously, Yuji, who fans know to be the protagonist of the series, took part in this amazing battle, and even though he was leagues away from Sukuna in terms of power, he managed to tap into his true potential here and rise to the next level.

Yuji Itadori managed to hit a very powerful black flash against the King of Curses, and this black flash led to the awakening of his true potential. Beneath these black sparks, Yuji’s true power awoke and he finally gained access to the Shrine cursed technique. As fans know, the Shrine is a mighty cursed technique, easily considered to be one of the very best in the entire series. With this power, Yuji leveled up greatly and was able to pose more of a threat to the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.

Naturally, Yuji was able to utilize the shrine incredibly effectively. This is simply down to the fact that Yuji had Sukuna inside his body, and that gave him muscle memory from what Sukuna had performed back then. This essentially means that Yuji could utilize the Shrine in ways that Sukuna already had. Fans saw him utilize the power of Dismantle on many occasions, and Yuji even came up with a unique version of his powers where he combined it with his ability to deal soul damage. Yuji was able to hit Dismantle directly at the souls of his enemies, causing them immense pain and injury. This worked perfectly against Sukuna, who had reincarnated and did not have an original body to belong to.

Gojo-sensei’s Six Eyes confirmed it. Yuji can use the Shrine. – Yuta

It can also be said that Yuji’s version of Shrine was slightly different from that of Sukuna. Whereas the King of Curses chopped down everything in his path indiscriminately, Yuji’s version of this technique was slightly different. It can be said that he utilized this power in a much safer way. Only things marked with scissors got cut with Yuji’s attacks, which meant that his technique was not meant for indiscriminate attacks. Finally, Yuji also tapped into a Domain Expansion, which saw him utilize the ability of a sure-hit Soul Dismantle, capable of dealing deadly damage to his enemies.

It was using this technique that Yuji put Sukuna on his last legs, and then finished off the battle with a powerful black Flash.

Yuji’s Future Shrine Usage Will See Him Utilize New Techniques

Yuji Itadori Should Learn To Use Multiple Dismantles

Yuji’s Shrine usage in the future is going to be very different from what fans saw previously. For one, Yuji has not shown the ability to utilize techniques such as Spider Web, or even Cleave, properly. He can tap into these powers, given that he has muscle memory from Sukuna’s time in his body. He can adjust what he wants to cut based on the sturdiness of his enemy and his cursed energy output, at the same time, he can also cut things down in one fell swoop. More than that, Yuji can utilize his domain in an indiscriminate way as well, if he so wishes, even though he has not done that, at least yet.

More importantly, it can also be said that Yuji Itadori will be able to gain further control over his cursed energy in general, and this will allow him to change the specifics of his barriers, just as Gojo and Sukuna once did. It must be remembered that Yuji has the same potential as Sukuna, after all, and that essentially means that he can reach the same level of power as him, potentially even learning to perform an open-barrier domain.

Furthermore, fans should also keep in mind that Yuji should have the potential to utilize the World Splitting Dismantle as well. Sukuna was able to expand the target of his techniques and create an ability that could chop down even Gojo. Yuji did not have this technique performed in his body, which means that muscle memory cannot come into play here. However, Yuji did see it being performed with his own eyes, and if he masters cursed energy enough, he should be able to do this as well. Simply put, in the future, Yuji can indiscriminately reduce his opponents to shreds if he so wishes and, at the same time, cut down his enemies with a slash that bypasses anything, just like the king of curses used to do.

How Strong Will Yuji’s Domain Be?

Yuji’s Domain Will Level Up Too

Naturally, Yuji mastering the Shrine would also mean that his Domain Expansion would level up as well. Fans know Yuji to hold tremendous powers right now, and he might already be the strongest modern sorcerer at this point. However, this certainly is not his peak. Once Yuji masters his cursed technique, his domain usage is going to be much better as well. Yuji will be able to launch a barrage of powerful Dismantles at his enemies, completely destroying them in the process. He will learn how to utilize open-barrier domains, giving him a major advantage, and at the same time, Yuji will also be able to utilize techniques such as Furnace, given that he does have access to the same technique as Sukuna himself.

With these abilities, Yuji will be utterly unstoppable in combat, and he will surely go on to become the strongest sorcerer of the modern era. After all, Gojo did entrust everything to him, which means that it is now his responsibility to reach the top.
