The Most Valuable Nidoqueen Pokemon TCG Cards

The Most Valuable Nidoqueen Pokemon TCG Cards

While Nidoqueen and Nidoking form one of the most iconic Kantonian pairs, Nidoqueen holds her own with an impressive collection of Pokemon TCG cards. While many sets feature counterpart cards for Nidoqueen, some of its best iterations hone in on this Pokemon’s strength and power.

Pikachu is back with a strong cast of Special Illustration Rares.

Some of Nidoqueen’s most valuable cards feature multiple variations of the same art, so those cards will only receive one entry that highlights the most expensive variation. For example, Jungle has both a Rare and a Holo Rare Nidoqueen card, but only the more expensive version, the Holo Rare, will feature on this list, leaving room for other artwork to shine.

Cards are ordered according to their TCGPlayer Market Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the (first edition, where applicable) cards below.

Given the age and rarity of these cards, only those with an established market price on TCGplayer are included.

However, sale prices differ depending on the card’s condition, so this market price is just a rough idea of the card’s value.

Giovanni’s Nidoqueen: Gym Challenge First Edition (Rare) – $14.75

A Powerful Partnership

The Nidoqueen Gym Challenge Holo Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

Giovanni’s Nidoqueen from Gym Challenge kicks things off with the most valuable Nidoqueen cards despite not featuring among the most expensive Gym Challenge cards. The background leaves plenty of room for a bright landscape behind Nidoqueen, giving this card a poignant “slice-of-life” feeling to it.

Lightly played (LP) copies of this Nidoqueen hover around $11, while the nicest near-mint (NM) cards can typically reach heights of $16.50 and above. Non-Holo Rares aren’t typically in demand, but this Nidoqueen’s art is too good to pass up on.

Nidoqueen: Base Set 2 (Holo Rare) – $17.79

One Of The OGs

The Nidoqueen Holo from Base Set 2 in the Pokemon TCG.

Although Base Set 2 rarely stands out as special when you consider the existence of the Shadowless and Unlimited print runs, this Nidoqueen card earns a prominent place among the best cards in the set.

This reprinted artwork was originally featured in Jungle and returned to Base Set 2 as one of the best early cards in the Pokemon TCG.

LP cards sell most often, with sales ranging between $11 and $16, but moderately played (MP) cards can offer even steeper discounts, with some sales below eight dollars. However, on the other end of the spectrum, finding an NM copy is difficult, and it will cost you at least $17 in most cases.

A Part Of The Team

The Nidoqueen Sun and Moon Team Up Promo from the Pokemon TCG.

Nidoqueen’s foray into the promo world offers a solid card to appreciate. While it certainly won’t be among the most expensive in the Sun & Moon era, this Nidoqueen promo carries significant interest as part of the Staff Prerelease leading up to the release of Team Up, one of the most iconic sets ever.

Unfortunately, there’s not much data to analyze on TCGplayer, with only a small handful of sales to point toward, though they include two NM copies of this card which sold for over $26. LP copies will offer a solid discount, clocking in closer to the $16 mark if you’re not interested in collecting a perfect copy.

2

Nidoqueen: Jungle First Edition (Holo Rare) – $78.84

The Difference A Stamp Makes

The Nidoqueen from Jungle in the Pokemon TCG.

First edition cards will always carry a premium on their Unlimited versions, as with this Nidoqueen from Jungle. With the Jungle expansion representing one of the best vintage sets of all time, it’s hard to find a better illustration with a better pedigree than this first edition favorite.

HP copies of this first edition Nidoqueen start at around $19, followed by MP copies, which shoot up to $31 (though mislabeled cards on TCGplayer are common). LP cards command a few more dollars, hovering closer to $35, while NM variants shoot up to the $78 to $100 range, cementing this card’s value on the back of its NM price.

1

Nidoqueen: Skyridge (Holo Rare) – $102.60

A Queen Rises

The Nidoqueen from Skyridge in the Pokemon TCG.

The Nidoqueen from Skyridge sets itself apart from its peers thanks in large part to the rarity and desirability of the set it hails from. The unusual perspective, gorgeous composition, and excellent use of shadow with Nidoqueen as the primary focus give this card an appeal that few others have had thus far.

However, aside from its looks, this card is somewhat difficult to price, given that it boasts a single recent sale in MP condition at the market price. However, this leaves a huge gap between the MP price and this card’s value ceiling, as an NM sale could push it way higher. With a handful of listings ranging from $100 to $350, time will tell where this card’s price settles.
