“This Is Your Responsibility Now”
Solas
When it was first revealed, the fourth game in the Dragon Age series used to be called Dreadwolf instead of Veilguard. We can assume that it was called that because the main antagonist used to be Solas (also known as the Dreadwolf), but instead, he becomes an unwilling ally in the current events of the game.
Now, due to Rook messing with his ritual, Solas has to entrust them with the fate of the world, preventing the ancient elven ‘gods’ from wreaking havoc in Thedas. As such, this is the first line that makes the gravity of the situation understood, as the Dreadwolf reminds the player that this is their responsibility now.

“Nobody Likes Being A Woman”
Taash
Taash is a very blunt character with complex feelings that has a hard time navigating them. They assume that other people see the world just like they do, making bold statements left and right, like when they were surprised that Emmerich didn’t like dragons, since everyone is supposed to like them.
Few statements are as bold, however, as the one they say to Neve while discussing womanhood. Neve asks Taash if they like being a woman, to which they reply that no one likes being a woman, assuming that everyone else in Thedas is experiencing the same thing they are.

“Is There Any Chance That He Would Listen To Reason?”
The Inquisitor
During the final battle of the game, the gang knows that after defeating Elgar’nan, they will have to deal with Solas. The Inquisitor, ever the diplomat, asks if there is a chance that Solas might see reason, that tearing down the Veil isn’t worth the many deaths it would cause.

“Regret. Not The Regret Of A God, But Of A Mother Who Knew She Would Never See Me Again”
Morrigan
One of the final scenes we saw in Dragon Age: Inquisition was an encounter between Flemeth and Solas, or rather, Mythal and the Dreadwolf. They share a sweet reunion until Solas kills his companion, stealing her power to grow his own might.
Mythal survives, as she’s known to do, and inhabits Morrigan’s body. What many fans wondered about was the fate of Flemeth, who was also known to be a survivor, but this quote confirms the worst: the witch of the wilds is no more, a casualty in the schemes of Solas.

“Pulling A Bharv”
Isabela
There is a scene in Dragon Age: The Veilguard where Isabela misgenders Taash and, to prove that she regrets doing so, does something called ‘pulling a Bharv.’ This involves doing ten push-ups to show that you really mean you’re sorry, since this Bharv individual was always doing something offensive and wanted to change his ways (or to tone his biceps, one of the two).

“My Decision. My Sacrifice. And You Don’t Get To Take That From Me”
Varric
Realizing that Varric is dead hits hard, since he’s been a staple of the series since Dragon Age 2. But there is a weight in his words when you meet him in the Fade (well, Rook’s mental image of Varric, anyway), since he isn’t just trying to make Rook feel better but to make them understand why he chose to confront Solas alone.
It wasn’t Rook’s job to save Varric, since that would make Varric seem helpless against the big bad elf. That isn’t what Varric was trying to do; he was trying to save Solas from himself, to give his elven friend one last chance at redemption, and he was willing to die for that ideal.

“I Am A Fool Who Finally Met His Match”
Solas
There are many ways the game can end, going from Rook dying to convincing Solas with words and friendship. The one ending that is likely to be the most common, though, is tricking the Dreadwolf into using a fake Lyrium dagger, turning him into an unwilling anchor for the Veil.
As a ‘god’ of treachery and lies, Solas is almost amused by this style of defeat, since he knows how fitting it is for him to get trapped in such a way: it is what he did to Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain, after all. You might personally prefer some of the other endings of the game, but they lack such an impactful quote as this one has.
