While Korean developer ShiftUp has confirmed that it has a PC port for the incredibly popular Stellar Blade in the works, it never mentioned when it would plan to release it – that is, until now. According to a new financial report, the currently PlayStation-exclusive action adventure game will branch out from consoles soon, with the Stellar Blade PC port set to arrive in 2025.
While no public-facing announcement about the Stellar Blade PC version has been made, ShiftUp was pressed by investors about when it would expand its reach as only those on the PS5 have so far been able to embark on Eve’s adventure. While it’s a solid action game with intriguing boss designs and gorgeous visuals, Stellar Blade probably won’t be remembered as an all-time great, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a huge appetite for it. In response to the questioning, ShiftUp reveals that it is aiming to get the PC port out sometime in 2025.
Interestingly, it also makes a point to say that it expects Stellar Blade’s commercial performance on PC to “exceed that of consoles,” according to a translated version of the transcript.
Explaining why it’s making this prediction, ShiftUp namechecks Black Myth: Wukong as a similar action title that found enormous success on PC and also highlights Steam’s “expanding share of the AAA game market” and its importance as a platform. It was widely assumed that Steam would be Stellar Blade’s destination of choice, similar to other formerly PlayStation-exclusive games like God of War Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2, which hits PC in January 2025. However, this recognition of Steam’s stature all but seals the deal there.
Stellar Blade’s PS5 version is about to receive another sizable post-launch update, which not only introduces a crossover with NieR Automata but also adds the game’s long-awaited photo mode. A PC version will almost certainly arrive with all of these post-launch additions readily available from day one.
