How To Build A Priority Queue In Planet Coaster 2

You can have litter strewn across the park, overpriced drinks, and nowhere to sit down, but what visitors in Planet Coaster 2 hate more than anything is having to wait too long for rides. To take advantage of that impatience, you can add priority passes to rides to make more money and ensure that everyone is happy.

You need to use Research points to unlock new rides, but what are the best rides to build early in Planet Coaster 2.

For a fee, guests can skip the standard queues and get straight onto the rides. It’s a great way for you to earn more money and keep people happy. However, there are a few steps to follow to set it all up.

How To Add A Priority Pass

The finance tab in a ride menu to set a priority pass in Planet Coaster 2.

You are able to add a priority pass to each ride individually. You simply click on a ride and tab over to the financials tab and you’ll see a toggle for Priority Pass. Simply change that to on.

You’ll have to do that individually for each ride you want Priority set up on. However, that’s not all you need to do to have Priority working on a ride.

Much like Pool Passes, you will also need to set up a Guest Services Facility somewhere around the park, preferably near to the ride that has Priority turned on, so that guests can buy them. They’re in the Facilities build menu, with an information symbol.

How To Set Up Priority Queue

A priority queue being added to an entrance in Planet Coaster 2.

Once you’ve turned Priority on for the rides you want it active on, you’ll need to set up a Priority queue, which is separate from the one you’ve already added.

It’ll actually instantly ask you to place a Priority queue once you toggle the setting on. You then need to choose a new place on the exterior of the ride and build a queue path just like you would any other entrance path. Guests will then know automatically that it’s the Priority queue and only use it if they have a pass.

You should try to activate Priority Passes on your most popular rides as a way of maximising profits.

You are also then able to check the queue length time for Priority queues on rides to determine when to have the passes active.

If the Priority queues are too long, guests will get annoyed quickly.

How To Change Priority Pass PricesThe park management screen where you change priority pass and ticket prices in Planet Coaster 2.

Once you’ve set up Priority on rides, you’ll need to start charging for them. If you head into the Park Management menu and then the Park Options section, you’ll be able to see how much your park entrance prices are. Then, just below are the settings for Priority Passes. Unlike individual ride prices, you only have two options for prices you can change:

Custom

Set your own price manually. It can be anything, but don’t put it too high and no one will buy it.

Full Price

Automatically changing price based on overall park ticket price and demand. It’s almost always $10.00 for us.

Be sure to see what guests are saying about both the price of your entry ticket and the price of Priority Passes, as you may need to change the price regularly to keep them happy.
