In Pokemon GO, there are several different kinds of Raids that players can encounter. To find a Raid, you will need to check nearby Gyms in your local area. Any that currently have an ongoing Raid will have the featured Pokemon appearing above them, plus the addition of a timer counting down how long the relevant Raid will remain active.
Here is a list of every different kind of Raid in Pokemon GO:
- 1-Star Raids: Are the easiest to defeat, and feature more common Pokemon, usually at the first form of an evolution line.
- 3-Star Raids: These are medium-level in difficulty, featuring first-form Pokemon as well as some middle-staged evolutions.
- 5-Star Raids: These are the toughest level in difficulty to defeat, featuring final form evolved Pokemon as well as Legendary and Mythical specimens.
- Mega Raids: Feature Mega-evolved Pokemon forms. Pokemon captured through these Raids will be able to Mega Evolve.
- Shadow Raids: Feature Shadow Pokemon, a dark variant of normal Pokemon with increased power. Shadow Pokemon can also be purified in exchange for Stardust and Candy.
