Placing all of the rare cards you’ve collected into a battle-ready deck is one of the most satisfying reasons to keep playing Pokemon TCG Pocket. Luckily, even if you aren’t familiar with creating a custom deck, the game offers several templates, called Theme Decks, to build. Below, we’ll take a look at everything you need to know about Theme Decks, including how to unlock them all.
What Are Theme Decks?
Theme Decks are a type of mission and deck type that essentially tasks you with collecting all 20 cards within the given deck. These are themed around a single or specific group of cards, like Charizard, Mewtwo, the Kanto Fossil Pokemon, and so on.
Each Theme Deck has a Highlight card that, when obtained, will give you a rental version of the deck that can be used in battles ten times. This lets you try out the deck to see if you like it before committing to collecting every card in the deck.
For Theme Decks that have multiple Highlight cards, you’ll need to collect one copy of each of its Highlight cards to unlock the Rental Deck.
Completing a Theme Deck Mission doesn’t necessarily reward you with anything, but it does mean that you’ll have the full deck list that you can then create your own deck out of and use in battle as much as you want.
It’s important to note that while these decks are ready-made, they are not often competitively viable. There are many stronger deck options out there, and Theme Decks should be considered beginner or starter options only.
How To Complete Every Deck Mission
Here’s every Deck Mission and the cards you need to complete them. These Theme Decks are specifically for the Genetic Apex expansion, and the Highlight card in each deck is noted.
