How to unlock Cat Care Hobby in Heartopia

Before you can adopt your first cat, Heartopia needs you to prove you’re a capable pet owner. Which means you only get access to the Cat Care Hobby after unlocking many other activities and understanding them well.

First, you must reach Developer’s Guild Level 12. And this step alone takes several days, since levelling the guild requires earning contribution medals through consistent play. Because of this, Cat Care is very much a mid-game hobby rather than an early one.

Once you hit the required guild level, head to the Town Square and enter the Pet Supplies Shop. Inside, you will find Mrs. Joan, the NPC responsible for pets. Speak with her and exchange a Hobby Expansion Ticket to unlock the Cat Care Hobby.

However, that is not the only requirement. Before Mrs. Joan allows you to proceed, you must already have access to the Gardening, Fishing, Cooking, Birdwatching, and Insect Catching hobbies. Once unlocked, the Cat Care hobby becomes available, and you can begin the process.

How to get a Cat in Heartopia

After unlocking the Cat Care Hobby, you can finally adopt your first feline companion. To do so, return to the Pet Supplies Shop and browse the daily cat selection. Each day features a rotating lineup of cats, meaning breeds, fur patterns, eye styles, and traits change daily.

Because of this, patience plays a big role. If you do not see a cat you like, you can simply come back another day. There is no penalty for waiting. When you find a cat you want to adopt, you must pay 500 gold to cover a physical exam.

After that, you can name your cat and bring them home immediately. If you change your mind later, do not worry cause you can rename your cat at any time. It is also important to note that cats cannot currently be returned or exchanged.

How to take care of your Cat in Heartopia

Now that you have a furry addition to your family, caring for your cat is a daily commitment. And Heartopia focuses on players’ interaction with their adorable pets, so most tasks feel natural and rewarding.

To increase your bond with your cat, you should do the following activities regularly:

• Feeding

• Bathing
• Playing
• Walking your cat around town

Each interaction increases your bond level and increases the chances of your cat bringing you gifts. Additionally, higher bond levels unlock better training results and faster growth. So make sure to take care of your cat often, especially if you want to experience more.
