Crossfire: Legends Overview

Let’s start with the gameplay overview to help you get a clear idea of how it works. Crossfire: Legends caters to both newbies and veterans, as the very first thing you do is follow a custom training plan. You are introduced to Search & Destroy, where you’re divided into two factions, Black List or Global Risk.

You then get a walkthrough of basic movements, controls, how to plant and defuse bombs, while explaining the faction swap after few rounds. I liked the control layout options it offers, and I choose the BR layout, as I found it better. And to my surprise, we then straight up jump into Ranked Matches.

If you were missing CSGO, this one offers a similar experience, minus the intensity. Even the map looks inspired, like Desert resembling the iconic Rust map. That said, I had a great time running around with a Desert Eagle in TDM, as the aim assist feels really good here, so beginners won’t struggle much.

Introducing the Basics of Crossfire: Legends

Game Modes

The game comes with a variety of modes, including Ranked Match, PvP, and Mutation. In the Ranked Match, you can compete in Search & Destroy and Team Deathmatch to increase your rank and also earn rewards. Like CSGO, you can vote for Maps here.

In PvP, you can choose from a lot more options like Free-for-All, Firing Range, and Special, where you can enjoy Sniper or Melee only, besides the usual TDM and S&D. And Mutations, is like the Zombies mode here, where you either play in the Terminator and Hero sub-mode in the 3 available maps.

Inventory

In the Inventory, you can switch your Backpack by switching to that backpack, equip from a variety of primary and secondary weapons, like M4A1 or Desert Eagle, tactical gadgets, and more, similar to Call of Duty: Mobile. You can also change your character, Mutant characters, items, morphs, and more here.

Ranked Mode and Season

Like CODM, and other similar titles, you’ll find a Ranked Season system here as well. Here, you can check your Current Rank and rewards, settlements, Weapons, Missions, and the Redemption center. There are a total of 10 in the game, with each having sub-tiers except the last three:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Emerald
  • Diamond
  • Master
  • Legend
  • Elite Legend
  • Top 500

You also earn weapon skins of different rarities by completing ranked matches. But, it’s the Redemption center, that is more interesting, as you can exchange various gun, knife, and even C4 skins, in addition to the various characters, like Sun Wukong, and more. Though, you’ll need to reach Legend rank for the skins.

Event Center

In the event center, you’ll find all the available events in the game, right from Launch Events to Limited-time ones, along with Missions and Notices. For instance, in the Legends Crowned, you can login daily to get lucky draw tokens, and use them to obtain VVIP Weapons, Diamonds, and more.

You get 20 Tokens for free, so you’re guaranteed 2 VVIP skins for free, as each 10 draws guarantees one. In the Limited-time section, there’s a lot more events offering skins, Diamonds, and more.

Battle Pass

Crossfire: Legends includes battle passes too, with the current on, Reforged for Battle live until March 3, 2026. Here, you can complete weekly missions and achievements to earn BP Exp, and then collect from the free or premium rewards. In the Redemption section, you can exchange premium skin and Diamond chests.

Leaderboard and Collection

You’ll find two more sections, Collection and Leaderboard. In Collection, you can check out all the available skin series, like Origin Revamp, Invincible, Black Tiger series, and more, and by completing a collection, you obtain Diamonds.

And Leaderboard is obviously, where you can check your ranking in both Global and among Friends. Here, there’s even ranking for Weapon Collection, including Orange Weapon, Purple Weapon, and VVIP Weapon Count, which is somewhat similar to MLBB’s leaderboard system.

Crossfire: Legends Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

1. Get used to S&D and TDM first

To actually improve in the game, you’ve to first master both Search & Destroy and Team Deathmatch, as whatever you play, they’re the main game modes. So, getting used to the different maps, bomb sites, angles, and more is important. Like, once you get the idea of when to push or hold angles, you can surely win most fights.

2. Do aim trainings and take advantage of the aim assist

In a FPS title, your aim is your absolute weapon, so having a solid aim is really important to win all the duels or to outplay others. You can give some time in the training range, or just play Free-for-All to get better. And the aim assist in this game is really good, so you won’t have much issue.

3. Choose the right layouts and controls

Now, it is also important what layout you’re playing on, as it can either give you advantage or disadvantage. The good part is the game already gives you three layout options that you can further customize as per your likings. I suggest you give some time tweaking the sensitivity and controls for better results.

4. Manage your inventory and loadout properly

Make sure to experiment with different guns, melee weapons, tactical gadgets, and characters, before committing to a specific loadout. Just like CODM, your loadout is equally important, as some weapons just perform better than others.

5. Put more focus on Ranked Matches

As you gradually progress, starting playing more Ranked Matches, as that is where you’ll feel the actual competition. The best way to improve is by competing against better opponents, as you’ll learn what you’re lacking while fighting them. On top of that, the rewards are also very good to miss out.

6. Complete missions, try out events, and more

And don’t miss out on Events and Battle Pass, as you can obtain a lot of exclusive rewards, Diamonds, and more through them. For instance, I was lucky enough to get two VVIP skins, and that too AK47-Born Beast-Beta and Anaconda-Born Beast-Beta.

Final Thoughts

I personally enjoyed Crossfire: Legends a lot, as it gives that familiar CSGO-like shooting experience in addition to the aim assist and solid rewards. And game modes like TDM and S&D are always fun, though I felt playing against bots in the beginning. As you progress, it will get challenging, so follow this detailed Beginners Guide to stay ahead of the crowd and dominate.
