Everything you need to know about Buffies

Brawl Stars Buffies Guide Cover
  • Brawl Stars added Buffies as permanent upgrades that boost Gadgets, Star Powers, and Hypercharges instead of Power Level 12.
  • In this update, Colt, Shelly, Spike, Mortis, Frank, and Emz each received three Buffies, making a total of 18.

Brawl Stars has now officially released the new power, Buffies, with Update 65, as announced during the December 2025 Brawl Talk. First revealed back in November, these new permanent powers are now live in-game, available to purchase from the Claw Machine.

Brawl Stars Buffies Overview

Lore-wise, Buffies are collectible keychains that were sold in gift shops all over Starr Park, but they gradually sold out everywhere as new stocks stopped coming. But with R-T’s discovery, they’re back in the Park again. Now, Buffies are basically a new power that enhances the power and abilities of Brawlers.

So, what Brawl Stars did was introduce Buffies instead of adding Power Level 12, and these new permanent power buffs your Brawler’s Gadgets, Star Powers, and even Hypercharges. But, as of now, only Colt, Shelly, Spike, Mortis, Frank, and Emz got Buffies, with 3 available for each of them.

Moreover, once a Brawler gets their Buffies in-game, their Epic and Mythic gears will be removed, and they will be rebalanced accordingly, so you’re going to have to master them once again with these new powers.

How to obtain Buffies in Brawl Stars

So, each of the Brawlers I mentioned above got a Gadget, Super, and a Hyper Buffie, which you can unlock from the Claw Machine in-game. Moreover, they activate permanently once you unlock one, buffing both Star Powers and both Gadgets, and you can equip all 3 Buffies at the same time.

You need to reach 1000 Trophies first if you haven’t yet, to unlock this power, but the good thing is you’ll get your first Buffie for free. After that, you’ll need 1000 Coins and 2000 Power Points to get one from the Claw Machine, with a grab guaranteeing you a Buffie out of the 18 Buffies that arrived this update.

Also, after you collect all 18, you can then get the Bling Buffies, which are rare cosmetic Buffie Skins. That said, if you’ve a lot of Gems saved, you can just purchase Gadget Buffie for 149 Gems, Star Buffie for 179 Gems, and Hyper Buffie for 199 Gems.

How these Buffies actually work

To give you a clear idea of how these Buffies work, let me take Colt as an example. So, if you unlock his Gadget Buffie from the Claw Machine, both Gadgets of his Gadgets will be enhanced, with Speedloader stealing 1 ammo at each hit, and with Silver Bullet, you can shoot a larger bullet that deals more damage.

Likewise, if you get Shelly’s Gadget Buffie, with her Fast Forward Gadget, you won’t take any damage while dashing, and when you use the Shell Shock Gadget, your attacks will slow enemies, while increasing duration with each hit. You can find more details on the Brawlers via the Update 65 blog.
