  • GodLike Esports and S8UL Esports failed to send their entire roster to CODM World Championship 2025 Finals in Poland due to visa issues.
  • GodLike Esports Co-owner Amar Chandgude announced that they will be halting operations in CODM Esports until further notice.
  • Remaining players from S8UL and GodLike Esports have formed a new team named Newgen Ninjas to play as a new contender.

India’s one of the biggest esports organizations and one of the stalwarts in the Call of Duty: Mobile esports scene, GodLike Esports, recently sparked assumptions about halting their operations in the CODM esports after several events in the last few days.

Being one of the most successful teams in the last few years, this sudden breakout of this unfortunate report has shaken the entire Indian gaming community, as well as the global scene. In this article, I will take you through the timeline of events that ended up in this situation.

CODM World Championship 2025 Finals: Where it all started

This year’s CODM World Championship 2025 Grand Finals are taking place in Katowice, Poland. It is all set to start from the 7th of November and will end on the 9th of the same month. This year, India’s two most popular esports organisations, S8UL Esports and GodLike Esports, were about to take part in the LAN finals.

However, just before the departure, it came to GodLike’s knowledge that three players of the team did not get visas. The same thing happened for S8UL, where two of their players did not get visas. After several failed attempts, the heartbroken players announced on their social media handles that they will not be attending the finals due to visa issues.

Right after the announcement, Amar Chandgude, the co-owner of GodLike Esports, said on his live stream that they will be pausing CODM operations indefinitely and until further notice. He also stated that this happened mainly due to a massive lack of support and co-operation from both Activision and the tournament organiser, ESL.

Getting visas for esports championship finals taking place in foreign countries has always been a headache for Indian Esports Organisations. We have seen such incidents in various cases among multiple titles. But for Call of Duty: Mobile, it seems the issues are arising consistently. We have faced the same situation in the past years as well.

Both the players and the management teams of the organisations have urged multiple times to the relevant Government authorities and personnel, but sadly, all went in vain. India is not the only country that is facing similar kinds of obstacles. More than 15 players from different teams have already announced their retirement from the game. This clearly shows that the publisher and tournament organiser have messed it up to an extent.

A collab where the Gods have merged their Souls: A treat for the fans

After all the fiasco, the two Indian organisations had only 5 players in total to represent them. This number was not enough to represent both organisations separately. However, the number was just enough to form a team to represent a unique and unified entity, and to the fans’ surprise, this is exactly what happened.

On the 5th November, 2025, Call of Duty: Mobile took to their social handles to announce that GodLike Esports and S8UL have opted to combine visa-approved players into a new team named the Newgen Ninjas. Three players from S8UL and two players from GodLike will play in this team. Here is the list of the players of Newgen Ninjas:

For the first time in history, we are going to witness a merger of GodLike esports and S8UL esports in any kind of esports tournament. Fans of these teams, as well as neutral supporters, are very hyped to support the Newgen Ninjas as Team India!

Due to this merger, Animus, the next highest seed from the EU region, has filled the vacant spot. Whereas, the team Stand Point Gaming of China has also failed to obtain visas and has been replaced by OUG, the fifth seed from China.
