Duet Night Abyss Co-op Guide: How to play with Friends

Duet Night Abyss Character, Game Logo

Duet Night Abyss is an explosive blend of stylish combat, fantasy chaos, and captivating storytelling, but like most great action RPGs, it’s even better with friends. Because nothing beats charging into demon-infested commissions, pulling off synchronized combos, or showing off your latest skin while your squad cheers you on.

Thankfully, Duet Night Abyss supports online co-op multiplayer, complete with crossplay features and scalable team missions. However, multiplayer isn’t unlocked from the start, and you’ll need to reach certain milestones in the main story before you can dive into co-op with your fellow Phoxhunters.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about playing co-op in Duet Night Abyss, including how to unlock it, add friends, and jump into thrilling missions together. Also, check out our Duet Night Abyss Beginner’s Guide, Character Tier List, and Redeem Codes article for a smoother start to your journey.

Playing Co-Op with Friends in Duet Night Abyss

Co-op in Duet Night Abyss adds a whole new layer of excitement to the game’s fast-paced combat system. While you can absolutely progress through the story solo, the game truly shines when you’re tackling missions alongside your friends.

And whether you’re farming demon wedges, running dungeon commissions, or simply testing out your new builds, teaming up makes everything more dynamic and far more rewarding. Duet Night Abyss currently supports up to four-player online co-op, letting you form a squad and take on commissions together.

You’ll share the same battlefield, coordinate attacks, and combine abilities to wipe out hordes of enemies in style. That said, co-op gameplay is focused primarily on commission missions for now. These are dungeon-style encounters where you can fight, farm materials, and earn resources faster by working as a team.

So playing co-op enhances progression efficiency. Since you’ll clear enemies faster and share loot rewards, farming for materials like Carmine Globules, Thread of Time, or Secret Letter Clues becomes much less of a grind.

How to add Friends in Duet Night Abyss

Before you can jump into co-op missions, you’ll first need to unlock the Friends feature and connect with other players. Adding friends isn’t available right away, so you’ll have to make a bit of progress through the main storyline first.

Unlocking the Friends Feature

The co-op system, along with the Friends menu, becomes available once you complete the Black Iron and White Flower main quest. This quest marks a key moment in the story involving Psyche, and finishing it unlocks not only multiplayer but also several new systems that enrich the mid-game experience. Once that’s done and you’ll gain access to the Friends feature (lets you add friends and team up).

Sharing your UID and Adding Friends

Every player in Duet Night Abyss has a unique User ID (UID), which is what you’ll use to find or add friends. Here’s how to find yours:

  • Tap the main menu icon at the top-left of your screen.
  • Look just under your Phoxhunter’s name, your UID will be displayed there.
  • You can either copy it directly or write it down manually to share with friends.

Once you’ve exchanged UIDs, here’s how to send a request:

  • Go to Menu > Friends.
  • Tap on Add Friend and enter your friend’s UID.
  • Hit Send Request.

Your friend will receive a notification under Menu > Friends > Friend Requests. Once they accept, you’ll appear on each other’s friend lists, and co-op will be available.

Once you’ve unlocked the Friends feature and added your squad, it’s time to actually jump into battle together.

Unlocking Co-op Missions

Co-op is limited to commission missions, which function as Duet Night Abyss’s core repeatable dungeons. These missions test your combat skills, reward essential upgrade materials, and now, thanks to multiplayer, let you share the challenge with others.

To start a co-op session:

  • Open the Commissions menu.
  • Choose a mission that supports co-op.
  • Tap the Invite button and select a friend from your list.
  • Once they accept, you’ll both enter the mission lobby.

From there, you can coordinate your loadouts, decide which characters to bring, and dive right in. Each player controls their own characters, but you’ll share objectives and face the same waves of enemies.
