- SEGA Football Club Champions is the newest Football Manager-powered sim with an official J-League license.
- SEGA said the delay follows feedback from August’s closed beta.
- More updates, including the new release date, will be shared in a November livestream on the game’s official YouTube channel.
SEGA has officially announced that its Football Manager-powered sim, SEGA Football Club Champions 2025, will be delayed from its planned 2025 release window to early 2026. The game, which previously held a CBT in August and opened pre-registration, has now been renamed to SEGA Football Club Champions 2026.
You’ve to wait until next year to build your dream club from the ground up
SEGA Football Club Champions, the Football Manager-powered sim with an official J-League license, has now been delayed, meaning you’ll have to wait until next year. It’s the latest entry in SEGA’s long-running football sim series, and honestly, the wait might be worth it.
The game retains the heart of what made the series so special: player development and deep management strategy, while modernising it for today’s fans. Here, you can take on the role of a football manager, starting small and leading your club all the way to global glory.
The delay aims to deliver a more polished gameplay experience
But what excites me the most is the massive lineup of real-world talents. With over 10,000 officially licensed players from FIFPRO, the J.League, K League, and Manchester City FC, you can build your dream team featuring Haaland, Kovacic, and Ruben Dias.
As for the delay, SEGA explained it came after feedback from the closed beta test in August. They want extra time to polish the game and add more features, which sounds very promising. We’ll get more updates, including a new release date, in a November livestream on the game’s official YouTube channel.
