HoYoverse has announced that Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3, titled “Memories of Dreams Bygone”, will release on October 15, 2025. This update introduces new story content, the spooky Spook Shack faction, a brand-new region, fresh gameplay features, new outfits, exciting events, and extra rewards for all players.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3 kicks off with haunted stories and new Agents

In Version 2.3, Proxies will head into the Timesworn Hills, a mysterious new Hollow region filled with abandoned research facilities, hidden ruins, and chilling legends. Ghostly tales include missing miners, the sound of phantom bells, and hypnotists who trap victims in endless dreams.

To help face these threats, three new Agents from Spook Shack are added:

  1. Lucia (S-Rank Ether Support): A devoted Ethereal fan who uses dreamlike powers. She gathers Dream Points to enter a Dream State, unleashing Ether Veil: Wellspring to increase allies’ HP and boost team damage through increased Sheer Force and triggering Aftershocks.
  2. Yidhari (S-Rank Ice Rupture): A powerful fighter whose ice attacks always deal Sheer DMG based on her max HP. Her strength grows as her HP drops, rewarding a good balance of HP loss and recovery.
  3. Komano Manato (A-Rank Fire Rupture): Delivers Sheer DMG strikes that scale from his max HP. You can also unlock him for free through the upcoming event.

Alongside these debuts, Vivian (S-Rank Ether Anomaly) and Ju Fufu (S-Rank Fire Stun) will return in rerun banners.

New events and gameplay features in Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3

The update introduces a mix of tactical and fun events. Threshold Simulation is a new mode where you deploy multiple squads to clear interconnected battle scenarios. The event When Dreams Remain Unfinished brings turn-based combat, letting you control different monster categories with unique traits.

Completing this event will also reward you with Agent Manato for free. The popular photography event SNAP! Shining Strike also returns in an upgraded form, offering better camera controls, more filters, and new frames for stylish captures.

Other updates and additions

In Version 2.3, Soldier 0 – Anby will receive refined combat mechanics and boosted performance. These adjustments will allow her to better unleash her potential and provide more flexibility for team building.

Two Agents are also getting new looks in this update. Vivian will receive a brand-new themed outfit, while Manato will get an alternate outfit inspired by his Spook Shack role.

As part of the update, players can claim 600 Polychromes, 10 Encrypted Master Tapes, and 10 Boopons as free rewards. HoYoverse has also teased future content, revealing that Banyue, Dialyn, Zhao, and Ye Shunguang will join the roster in upcoming versions.
