Should you go for Flins or Yelan

  • Flins delivers massive Lunar-Charged burst damage, making him a strong frontloaded DPS for both F2P and premium teams.
  • Yelan excels as a Hydro sub-DPS, applying consistent Hydro for multiple reactions while contributing strong off-field damage.
  • Yelan is future-proof for reaction-based metas, while Flins’ peak potential depends on upcoming Nod-Krai units and team upgrades.

Genshin Impact Version 6.0 Phase 2 banners will go live from September 30th, 2025, till October 21st, 2025. The Phase 2 banners will feature one new playable character and one re-run character in a dual banner.

We will assess each character’s strengths and qualities in the future meta of the game and advise on who you should prefer to pull from the two playable characters.

Who should you go for between Ineffa or Citlali in Genshin Impact Version 5.8 Phase 1

Genshin Impact Phase 2 banners feature Flins and Yelan in Version 6.0, and it’s hard to decide who to pull. It depends on your team’s needs and your priorities for future content. Each character brings unique strengths to the table, but some offer more immediate and long-term value than others. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide.

1. Flins

Flins is a 5-Star Electro DPS who introduces a flexible burst-centric playstyle through Lunar Charge, letting him deal massive frontloaded damage or ramp into powerful triple burst rotations with proper energy management. His kit shines when paired with a Hydro unit and another Electro support, making him a natural fit for reaction-heavy teams that focus on consistent Electro-Hydro synergy.

He is worth pulling if you’re looking for a free-to-play friendly yet high-damage DPS, since even with just the Night’s Sky artifact set, Prospector’s Shovel, and three 4-star teammates, he reaches top-tier damage. His C1 also acts as a substitute for Ineffa, making him extremely valuable for players who missed her banner.

2. Yelan

Yelan is a 5-Star Hydro sub-DPS who excels at off-field damage through her ramping Hydro arrows and Burst that constantly applies Hydro to enemies. She fits seamlessly into reaction-based teams like Vaporize, Hyperbloom comps, where her Hydro application and personal damage output are both top-tier.

She is worth pulling if you want a universal Hydro support who slots into almost any team. Her damage scales with HP, making her easy to build, and her unique ramping passive buff boosts the on-field DPS’s damage significantly. She’s also highly mobile with her skill, giving her one of the most fun exploration tools in the game.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to long-term value, Yelan is one of the safest pulls in the game. Her role as a Hydro sub-DPS with strong off-field application and damage ensures she will always have a place in future teams, since Hydro is central to so many reactions. She’s already proven to be a meta-staple across multiple regions, and her versatility means she will stay relevant for years to come.

On the other hand, Flins is undeniably strong right now, but his long-term value is a bit less certain. His kit leans heavily on the new Lunar Charge reaction and synergy with Nod-Krai characters, meaning he’ll likely get stronger as more of those units are released. For now, he’s a powerful DPS option with great free-to-play accessibility, but his true ceiling depends on future character upgrades and how the meta evolves around him.
