I’m pretty sure Link Up for Managers in eFootball 2026 is something that has seen the curious side of the players since they can have some interesting combinations to make their formations click. One such manager who has caught the attention of eFootball 2026 players is Fabio Capello.
No lie, I was so tempted by this 750-coin purchase that I have him as my main manager now. After going through several options and formations, I thought maybe a guide to get the best setup out of the manager is important, so here’s a guide for you to make the best use of Fabio Capello in eFootball 2026.
Fabio Capello arrived as a surprise entry with the September 2025 update and with a pricy inclusion as well. With the 91-92 Version, he got an Over-the-Top Pass A Link-Up Playstyle. He specialises in Long Ball Counter/Long Ball proficiency.

The Link-Up play focuses on the Centrepiece (an Orchestrator at DMF) and the Key Man (a Goal Poacher at CF). When the Centrepiece controls the ball in the defensive half, the Key Man aggressively pushes forward to create space, and the boosted accuracy in through balls and chipped passes makes these long-ball attacks deadly.
Double-booster managers also have an effect on overall rating, and Fabio Capello might have received the best combo one can get with Finishing and Defensive Awareness boosts of +1. There’s a strong balance of offense and defense. One might say Passing instead of Defensive Awareness would have been a good option, but this suits better.
I have two formations that will come in handy for both Long Ball Counter and Long Ball.
1) 5-2-1-2
One of the standout setups with Capello is the 5-2-1-2 formation. At first glance, it looks very defensive, but in his Over-the-Top Pass A system, it becomes an excellent counterattacking shape.

With three center-backs and two wing-backs, you get a strong defensive wall that soaks up pressure, while the two midfielders protect the backline and help recover possession quickly. The AMF sits right behind two strikers, acting as a connector, while the wing-backs stretch wide and provide passing outlets.
Once the midfield wins the ball, they can immediately launch long passes into space for the two Goal Poachers, who are always ready to exploit gaps behind the defense. This setup is ideal against opponents who press hard and leave open spaces at the back.
2) 4-3-1-2
Another formation which clicks automatically with a LBC tactic. Unlike the 5-2-1-2, this one gives you more presence in midfield, making it easier to control the flow of the game while still keeping the counterattacking identity.

With three central midfielders, including a deep-lying orchestrator, you ensure stability in build-up while the Hole Player AMF pushes higher to support the strikers. The two forwards remain your key goal threats, where I prefer having a Poacher + FITB mix.
This shape also creates natural passing triangles across the pitch, so when you win the ball, you can move it quickly through midfield before releasing a killer long ball to your strikers if you are not leaning towards the long ball over the top.
Player Recommendations and Key Stats
Centrepiece (Orchestrator/DMF)
For the Centrepiece role, the perfect fit is a defensively solid playmaker who can sit deep and ping accurate long passes. 90s would be a good passing number here. Lofted Pass would be the high priority, and many Orchestrators do come with high passing numbers.
But you shouldn’t take your eyes off on the defensive side of things, Defensive Awareness and Engagement also should be in the 80s, and as noted in the formations discussion, I always recommend having a defensive Anchorman/B2B beside your Orchestrator because this isn’t an aggressive defensive midfielder role.
Recommended Skills: Through Passing, Weighted Pass, One Touch Pass
Key Man (Goal Poacher/CF)
Movement and clinical finishing becomes essential for someone who will make those runs. I tried having a few strikers with high offensive awareness and they ended up being offside. I feel the sweet spot would be 91-95 rating for the strikers.
Finishing needs to be over 90 without doubt. It is also beneficial if your striker is good at trapping the ball, Dribbling, Speed, and Balance would play a prominent role. Yes, not all come with this benefit, but surely striker cards these days don’t lack in any of the departments. An 80s range for Dribbling and Balance with 90s in Speed is a strong pick.
Recommended Skills: First Time Shot, Fighting Spirit, Long Range Shooting
