Bandai Namco has announced the shutdown of its action title, Ride Kamens, set for October 31 on Android and iOS in Japan. The game, developed by Liber Entertainment and based on Kamen Rider, was originally announced in February 2024, alongside iOS pre-registrations.
Ride Kamens shuts down as the devs plan to focus on new projects
Ride Kamens is a turn-based action title and a spin-off to the Kamen Rider series by Shotaro Ishinomori. Set in Rainbow City, you play as an Agent, enjoy a completely original story written by Yuya Takahashi, interact with citizens and create episodes with Kamen Riders, and battle enemies with special moves.
Unfortunately, the Ride Kamens Management Team announced via X that the game would shut down on October 31, stating, “We have decided to focus our resources and take on new challenges to provide content and experiences that everyone can enjoy in even more diverse ways.“
Players can still experience the game with the upcoming Offline version
Following the announcement, the game has disabled sales of paid diamonds and shop items. That said, you can still play the game until the EOS, and also use already purchased items and paid gacha tickets, before they expire. Refund requests for paid items will be open from October 31 until January 30, 2026.
The good news is that an offline version will be made available for you to continue experiencing the game and some features even after the service ends. You can transfer your data until October 31, and after a maintenance update, you can switch to the Ride Kamens Offline Version by updating the version.
While it is nice to have an offline version, it’s still disappointing to see the game end so quickly after launching on May 30 last year. However, many fans are not surprised, with some criticizing that it failed because it was “aimed at women despite being based on Kamen Rider, ” ignoring the original fans.
