Garena International I has announced the launch of the Free Fire OB50 update, scheduled for July 30. This new patch brings character reworks, weapon balancing, a new character, event, and more. The Naruto collaboration is also returning with this update.
Free Fire OB50 update: Key Highlights
Introducing Rin, the latest Character
The biggest highlight of the update is Rin, Hayato’s younger sister, who is joining the game as a stealthy ninja. With her skill, Kunai Flurry, you’ll be able to summon a Kunai every 8 seconds, allowing you to deal heavy damage to Gloo Walls, and the damage increases over distance.

She also has a passive ability that helps you tighten rifle spread if you can pull consecutive headshots, making her a great option for a sniper-only playstyle. Rin will be part of the Diamond Royale crate, along with the new unnamed pet, which increases EP regeneration when you crouch.
Character Adjustments in Free Fire OB50 update
The OB50 update brings significant changes to Free Fire’s beloved characters. Nairi’s Steel Gel now restores faster but heals allies less, while Kairos’ Defense Break consumes more energy per second. Additionally, Sonia’s Nanoshield has been significantly nerfed.

Santino’s Transport Dummy now has a teleport limit when positioned too high. Laura’s accuracy boost when aiming is increased, giving you more reliability in mid-range fights. Álvaro’s mini grenade damage is slightly higher, improving his explosive potential.
Weapon Adjustments and Map balances in Free Fire OB50 update
The update also introduces weapon adjustments. The M1887 shotgun has received a small range nerf, now balancing its close-range damage. Meanwhile, the Groza and SCAR rifles now feature smoother recoil for better control.

You can gain a rate of fire and damage boost for the MP40 by levelling it up. A new tech-gun pistol with a large magazine is also coming. Mini UZI and Heal Pistol are getting an Auto Tracker feature. And, AN94 is getting an accuracy buff, while AC80 now hits harder with a faster firing rate.
That’s not all, as VSS is getting a rate of fire increase, while M82B’s Gloo Wall penetration is now slightly nerfed. This update is cool, as even the Level 3 Backpacks are getting a visual revamp, and the 4x scope has a new center circle, which I believe will be useful.
Night Travel event and Map changes
You’ll love the new horror-themed event called Night Travel, which is arriving with a spooky vibe. You can look forward to a fog-filled lobby animation and a laser-marked Hot Drop Zone, where you can loot special cards to obtain supernatural powers.
You can pick from three powerful buffs. Reaper heals you for every kill, Tracker helps you point towards low-HP enemies, while Phantom cripples your enemies’ movement and also pings their location.

Talking about Map balances, Bermuda’s Clock Tower now features a rooftop zipline for more movement. Alpine has gained thicker foliage to disrupt long-range sniping lanes and provide better cover. The Dark Zone is another addition, filling the map with darkness along with a creepy sky.
Naruto collaboration is returning

Another exciting news is that the Naruto collaboration is returning with a themed lobby, scroll collection missions, and even two mythic skins, which are rumored to be of Kakashi and Tsunade. You can complete daily quests to unlock a free epic skin via the week-long point shop.
New CS Peak Mode
CS Peak is a new ranked Clash Squad mode, which is arriving with this update. You can only play it at night, and the mode features its own rank and point system. By ranking up here, you can obtain exclusive banners, avatars, and more.
UI and other performance improvements
The game’s interface is also being revamped with more clearer font and collapsible event tabs. Moreover, a recent squad carousel is also being added to help you re-queue with random teammates more easily. Good news for Android users, as loading times are now 30% faster on mid-tier phones.
Additionally, the game is also working to make the anti-cheat detection system sharper. After this update, it will flag suspicious macro taps within 90 seconds. That said, we’ll have to wait until July 30 to see what more the devs have in store for us. Stay tuned for more updates!
