Here, you can enjoy the storyline, clear Threads of Fate, herald the characters, complete challenges, battle Blood Beasts, and more. In this Silver and Blood review, I will share my impressions of this game and provide an honest opinion.

For this review, I played Silver and Blood on Motorola G32 (Android), racking up a total of 30 hours of playtime, including the beta period. This allowed me to fully explore and experience everything that the game has to offer, providing me with a solid foundation for a thorough analysis.

Silver and Blood offers a different take from MOONTON Games’ usual style

Starting with the review, let’s dive into the gameplay experience of Silver and Blood. If you’ve played MOONTON Games’ hit titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, this one might surprise you as it takes a completely different direction with its gameplay and style.

The core gameplay is built around a nine-grid turn-based combat system. Your battles are carried out automatically once you make your team formation, but you can step in by using the Skill Cards. You’ve to drag each card to different placements or shapes.

Plus, you can also go on raids, do expeditions, and a lot more besides clearing the main story in Threads of Fate. And if you don’t like the auto elements, the game’s visuals, storyline, and well-designed character grab your attention anyway.

Plenty of content to explore for every kind of player

When it comes to content, Silver and Blood is packed with a lot of things to do. Besides the Thread of Fate, which covers the main story, you can explore the Lost Courtyard for extra challenges. Here, you can try modes like Truth’s Odyssey, Infinite Abyss, and more.

As you progress, you’ll eventually unlock more content, like the Castle. This section includes the Observatory, Hall of Honor, and more. One of my favorites is the Council Chamber, where you can summon up to 5 Vassals daily and hold discussions on random topics.

Expedition is another fun feature where you can send your Vassals on wilderness missions to earn rewards. I also enjoy the banquet, where treating Vassals increases their Affinity. And the Journal is great too, offering backstories, daily interactions, and even Vassals’ birthdays.

Anime-style visuals and a stunning sound design steal the show

Coming to the game’s visuals and audio design, I’m beyond impressed by both. The game’s stunning visuals and anime-like cinematic cutscenes make you feel like you are watching a top-rated anime rather than playing a game, which is a unique experience in my book.

And the audio design perfectly complements the overall gothic-like aesthetic and game. Plus, the official theme song, Broken, by popular Japanese singer Milet, is like a cherry on top. I feel like this is one of the very few titles that puts equal effort into both visuals and sound.

Simple controls meet a clean and gothic-inspired user interface

Regarding the controls and user interface, Silver and Blood offer a solid, detailed UI that’s easy to navigate, despite the game’s extensive content. Although the game follows a dark gothic theme, you won’t have much issue navigating from Vassals to the Story mode, or anything else.

And as for controls, they’re quite simple, with most mechanics following a semi-auto format. You mainly drag Skill Cards to designated places to use them properly, which is pretty smooth. Even on a budget device, I found it stable and responsive without any issues.

IAPs tempt you with SSR Vassals, but you can still have a fun ride without them

Silver and Blood offers a range of in-app purchases, including the Vampire Embrace, which provides a lot of Moon Tears, Soothing Embraces, and Rare Shards. You’ll also find monthly pacts like the New Moon and Full Moon Pacts, and a lot more.

If you’re planning to unlock SSR Vassals, you might get tempted by the Special Embrace Packs, or Daily, Weekly, and Monthly picks. That said, you don’t necessarily have to spend to enjoy the game fully. You can very much follow a free-to-play approach and still have a good experience.

That said, with this approach, you’ll need to give a lot more time to the game, but you’ll save a lot this way. Most in-game resources, including Moon Tears, which is the game’s premium currency, can be earned just by playing and completing various tasks.

Final Verdict

Silver and Blood is an enjoyable title with rich lore and stunning characters that pull you in. While the semi-auto battle feature may not appeal to everyone, its combination of unique factions and Vassals, multiple game modes, stunning visuals, and storytelling does the job.

After spending a considerable amount of time with the game since its beta, I’m very impressed by how the game turned out. This is a big change from MOONTON Games’ usual style, but they’ve done it well, especially with the detailed art, loading screens, backstories, and more.

So, with its nine-grid turn-based battles, solid aesthetic, captivating music, smooth control and UI, a variety of content, Silver and Blood is a must-try title, especially if you’re into RPGs, gothic themes, or simply enjoy good storytelling with vampires.
