How Team Role works in DC Worlds Collide

Traits and Classes

Getting your comp is as simple as reading the Traits and Classes. Every one of your heroes has a Trait, Agile, Tactical, or Mighty, and each also has a Class, Tank, DPS, or Support. These define what the character does, what they’re good for, and what they’re bad for, as well as what they play off of.

Hero style of fighting attributes and magical dominance.

  • Mighty heroes have nothing except strength and stamina.
  • Agile heroes have quick movements, and most of them have dodges or high-speed attacks.
  • They’re Tactical heroes who employ strategic abilities such as crowd management, buff, or debuff.

Traits also interact with each other under a Rock-Paper-Scissors-like regime: Mighty > Agility > Tactical > Mighty. This is your longer list of options. Focusing the battlefield for the appropriate type of attribute allows your party an intrinsic bias as they fight your foe.

Classes dictate the battlefield vocation of heroes:

  • They pull out-of-body wounds and protect teammates.
  • DPS (damage dealers) are designed for rapid threat elimination.
  • Supports give restoration, buffs, debuffs, or utilities that sustain your group.

Securing the Win

You don’t win the game with just powerful heroes, but a balance between class and attribute for each aggression direction. Such an aggression-DPS formation alone could only break down under all-out-attack pressure, or such an all-tank formation would have no strength to rapidly close out fights.

Therefore, typical performing and competitive lineups have an even class balance: one Tank for holding down, two DPS for being damaged, and two Supports for controlling pace and achieving strategic dominance. Trait synergies also apply equally. Carefully matched sets of traits help your group not get out-countered by enemy compositions that take advantage of your group’s weakness.

Single-trait (pure) groups, as a consequence, can potentially have access to many bonuses and passive synergies, typically for events or missions involving trait-heavy play. Loosely, working around class and trait allows you to dominate, to switch between various enemies, maximize your use of energy, and withstand longer under combat. Best Team Composition in DC Worlds Collide.

Best Team Composition in DC Worlds Collide

Every hero in the game belongs to one of three traits, Mighty, Agile, and Tactical, and fills a certain role in a team, like Tank, DPS, and Support. Let’s analyze how you can create the best team composition based on these.

Meta Tier Powerhouse Team – Versatility and Control

Squad: Superman (Tank) + Deathstroke (DPS) + Sintestro (DPS) + Zatanna (Support) + Ocean Master (Support)

Superman brings unbeatable frontline toughness through self-resurrection and burn AoE, which the team builds from. Deathstroke brings a fast wipe clear threat before threats are able to take action. Sinestro breaks opposing compositions with burn AoE and feared action.

Zatanna brings team sustain through restore AoE and purge. Ocean Master brings extra sustain through passive restore and agility buffs so that energy and speed can be put towards even better uses. This hybrid setup brings together the best of the best of all three stat profiles: toughness, speed, and management.

Pure Trait Squad

Mighty Trait Squad: Superman (Tank) + Wonder Woman (DPS) + Starfire (DPS) + Two-Face (Support) + Deadshot (Support)

Heavier than Air: Team Leader is the Classic Mighty, famous for his revive, area of effect burn, and general toughness, Superman. He anchors the front, so everyone else can play without concern. Brute AoE DPS with stuns, ideal for crowd controlling, is offered by Wonder Woman, while Starfire offers explosive AoE DPS that can burn through chunks of mobs with her high-scale ultimate.

With Two-Face, we can fit a jack-of-all-trades type of setup, though more often than not, a DPS, his kit of controlling aspects and debuffing provides supportive value for this type of setup. Deadshot, not given enough love more often than not, provides stable buff management and range coverage, filling the supportive DPS cast while debuffing enemy targets.

Agile Trait Squad: Nightwing (Tank) + Deathstroke (DPS) + Green Arrow (DPS) + Kid Flash (Support) + Cyborg (Support)

Nightwing tops the list being the current tank of the team, providing evasion-based frontal endurance and a way of evading attacks to retaliate, leaving time for the rest of the team before they can initiate. Deathstroke, being among the top tiers of the Agile DPS units, provides large multi-strike combo deals that can wipe backline threats from a distance.

He is accompanied by Green Arrow, which provides high one-target burst damage alongside handy crowd control with his gear. Support-wise, Kid Flash increases team regen speed, so your DPS units cycle ultimates at lightning speed. Cyborg complements the lineup with buffs, shields, and utility, turning this into a high-momentum squad that can snowball fights from the first turn.

Tactical Trait Squad: Lex Luthor (Tank) + Sinestro (DPS) + Doctor Fate (DPS) + Zatanna (Support) + Raven (Support)

At the front, Lex Luthor assumes the tank role, not through sheer durability, but via energy manipulation and shielding. His ability to generate energy and apply protective barriers makes him a unique tank that enhances team efficiency.

Offensively, the team is led by Sinestro, a powerful Tactical DPS who inflicts AoE fear and defense debuffs, weakening entire enemy squads. Alongside him, Doctor Fate brings consistent magical damage and synergy with other Tactical units, especially when stacking ultimates or applying pressure through AoE.

The support line is where the Tactical squad truly shines. Zatanna remains the best-in-class healer with AoE recovery and cleanse capabilities, keeping the team alive through attrition. Raven adds depth with powerful status manipulation, magic resistance, and debuff control, making her an invaluable partner for protecting allies and controlling difficult opponents.

Beginner-Friendly Composition

Squad: Gorilla Grood (Tank) + Harley Quinn (Support) + Green Arrow (DPS) + Mera (DPS) + Deadshot (Support)

Leading the pack with its tanky stats and abilities, Grood is a solid choice. He brings disruption, crowd control, and disables, giving your team enough breathing room to unleash their full power. While Gorilla Grood is disrupting the enemy, Harley Quinn supports the allies with her buff abilities, and she can also deal AoE to the enemy.

Green Arrow is another formidable DPS character with large AoE and maximum critical potential. Mera is another DPS character that is capable of inflicting Armor Break with her fast, single-target attacks. She uses sacrifice to boost her damage reduction and damage reflection.

Deadshot functions as a hybrid sniper: his long-range burst can eliminate weakened enemies or pick off fragile units in the back. Offers additional utility in certain stages with precise debuffs.

Final Thoughts

Team build in DC Worlds Collide is all about having the perfect combination of traits, classes, and synergies. These teams mentioned here, meta or newbie, are good starting points at every stage of the game. Every hero has something unique working for them, and equipping them with some planning can go a long way in campaign progression.

As you advance more characters, don’t be afraid to experiment with combinations that are not in standard builds. Merging traits or modifying class functions might, in some cases, reveal powerful combinations that are attuned to your playstyle. Experiment and, in time, your best team will evolve with your playstyle and roster.
