- The new round of National Guardians Epic pack arrives in eFootball 2025.
- The Epic versions of Beckenbauer, Buffon and van Bronckhorst has been featured in this 150-player pack,
Another eFootball 2025 pack has arrived, and this is Epic National Guardians having a re-run, but with a fresh set of players. A good mix of defensive positions are here, with three legendary players from their respective positions: Franz Beckenbauer, Gianluigi Buffon and G. van Bronckhorst.
Defensive packs are a rarity where the game is flooded with attackers, and surely this pack is one of the best out there. So, after giving the players a good look, here’s my review of the Epic National Guardians pack in eFootball.
150 players in a pack pattern continues, with three Epic cards in each. Two of them have Show Time skills, while one is your regular Epic.
Franz Beckenbauer
- Position: DMF
- Playing Style: Orchestrator
- Showtime Skill: Fortress
I’ve been waiting long for that Beckenbauer CB card, and KONAMI doesn’t seem to be in the mood to give us that. Well, this card is a beast nonetheless, and once again, he plays like a midfield general with the mind of a center-back.
This version offers an excellent mix of defensive presence and build-up quality. He feels extremely composed on the ball, with his passing numbers close to the mid-90s and ball control not far behind. Passing skills are his forte, only the Low Lofted Pass and No Look Pass are missing.

His defensive awareness and tackling stats are among the highest for DMFs, so you can easily slot him at CB as well. You can expect him to dictate tempo while also being able to shut down opposing attacks before they even reach your backline.
A card that doesn’t seem to have any weakness, I know many would give him a build to get him to CB but well, that goes to 107 in-game rating, but it is a waste of his other attributes if you ask me. He is legit good as a CMF/DMF, and surely a top-3 in his position, so give him a middle role of dictating play.
Gianluigi Buffon
- Position: GK
- Playing Style: Defensive Goalkeeper
- Showtime Skill: None
Can say the most broken keeper stat wise, he goes to 106 in auto-build. Surprisingly, the newly added GK Directing Defence Show Time skill would have been easily given to this guy, but for some reason, Buffon remains without a ST skill.

But yeah, that doesn’t keep him from being an absolute wall in goal. All the core goalkeeping stats are basically maxed out almost and really high, so you’ll see him pulling off saves others simply won’t. Apart from catching, all his stats are pushed to the 95+ range.
Distribution-wise, he’s not going to ping long balls like Neuer, but he can comfortably handle short buildup and low punts. His physical numbers, including height and arm coverage, are pretty solid, so try a build with higher reflexes, and you can surely see his magic.
G. van Bronckhorst
- Position: LB
- Playing Style: Offensive Fullback
- Showtime Skill: Fortress
Now this one’s a treat. Arriving as a new card, Van Bronckhorst finally gets the love he deserves, and this card is fire if you love overlapping wingbacks. He’s got the Long Reach Tackle Show Time skill, which is perfect for someone who’s constantly pressing and chasing wingers.
What really impressed me, though, is his engine, his stamina is unreal, and it shows with the way he just never stops. He plays like a proper two-way fullback. He’s got pace in the high 90s range, great acceleration, and honestly feels very nimble on the ball.

His dribbling isn’t elite, but it’s more than enough for link-up plays and carrying the ball down the flanks. For an offensive fullback, that passing in autobuild definitely is a miss, so I preferred adjusting the speed and allocating it to bump the passing numbers.
Defensively, he holds up just as well. The tackling stats are solid, and with that ST skill, he can stretch into tackles even when slightly off balance and still recover. Fighting Spirit and Sliding Tackle would be my skill options, and overall, a solid card.
All three players have their place, but Beckenbauer easily stands out as the most versatile and best card in this set. The other two options are pretty awesome and belong to the top tier as well. Overall, I can say it’s a well-balanced Epic drop, and each card offers long-term value depending on your squad’s needs.
