New game modes and a collab event are arriving this month

NetEase Games has revealed its July 2025 roadmap for MARVEL Mystic Mayhem, promising weekly updates and significant new features.

  • July 7: Introducing Game of Khonshu, a brand-new Roguelike mode, where you will be facing endless challenges in an unpredictable mode, where every decision counts
  • July 10: The Uniform functionality system is going live, with new uniforms now being introduced regularly
  • July 17: A Mysterious Collab event is arriving with a new storyline, unique stages, and four new playable characters
  • July 31: Storyline will receive an expansion with new content, and the next themed version

Additionally, the game’s roguelike mode, Infinite Mayhem, will now receive new content updates every Friday to keep the experience dynamic.

The devs plan to introduce a new themed version every six weeks

The dev team has decided to adopt a consistent six-week update cycle to maintain the long-term growth of the game. Each version update will introduce a new unique Dreamscape zone, tied directly to the game’s main storyline, Crown of Nightmares, where players can rescue trapped heroes and explore unique nightmare environments. Each themed version will typically include:

  • A new story chapter
  • 2-3 playable heroes
  • A new challenge stage
  • A new Nightfall Boss, depending on the version’s main story structure.

New Heroes will arrive with every major version update

After the global launch, MARVEL Mystic Mayhem now has 26 playable characters in Version 1.0, with the recent addition being Captain America, capping 27 in total.

Now with the latest dev update, the devs have confirmed to introduce new 2-3 characters in MARVEL Mystic Mayhem with every major version. New characters will include both 3-star and 2-star heroes, tied closely to the ongoing storyline. Additionally, characters will be introduced alongside special events as well, starting with this month’s collab event!

Crown of Nightmares will expand over eight-themed version updates

MARVEL Mystic Mayhem Season 1 is centered around the Crown of Nightmares current story arc. NetEase Games has planned to release to continue the story with eight themed versions, with each version spanning six weeks as per their content plan.

The plot follows the villainous Nightmare, who, now with the Crown of Nightmares, can distort reality at his will. It’s up to the Avengers now to travel across the distorted dream realms to challenge his rule and find a way to restore balance. Additionally, Season 2 is already in the works, as confirmed by the devs.

New gameplay mechanics and modes are arriving in future updates

Beyond new heroes and storylines, MARVEL Mystic Mayhem will also introduce new gameplay mechanics, including:

  • Alliance War
  • Superflow Challenge
  • Solo Mode

The above game modes are currently in active development, and while exact release dates haven’t been disclosed, their inclusion points to a wider range of endgame content and gameplay depth. The devs have further promised to adhere to feedback for future content updates moving forward, stating that the community feedback will play a central role in shaping future updates.
