A new, streamlined, all-in-one hub for discovering and enjoying games across Apple devices with the Games App
Apple is now introducing a new Games App, set to roll out this fall and pre-installed across Apple devices. Designed to be a central hub for all things gaming on the App Store, this new app makes things easier and more enjoyable to find your favorite titles, discover what’s new, and the latest in-game content.
As gaming continues to dominate in user engagement and spending across platforms, Apple is utilizing that momentum. With this app, you’re being provided a more streamlined way to explore and engage with games. Moreover, it’s integrated into the Apple ecosystem, with features appearing in widgets, notifications, and across the App Store.
Play, track, and discover everything with one seamless experience
Here’s what you can look forward to inside the new Games app:
- In the Home Tab, you can explore trending titles, the editorial section, new challenges, seasonal updates, and more.
- You can keep track of your most recently played titles, top charts, personalized recommendations, and more.
- The Arcade Tab gives you access to your Apple Arcade titles, also letting you browse the full library and jump into the latest titles.
- The Play Together tab enhances the social side of gaming, featuring achievements, multiplayer activities, leaderboards, and more.
- And of course, you’ll get all titles available on the App Store integrated into the Games app, with games appearing in search results, the Library tab, and the Continue Playing section.
I’m very happy about this. I’ve recently picked up a MacBook for work, and this new app couldn’t have been revealed at a better time. With titles like Angry Birds Bounce and more, coming to Apple Arcade this July, this app feels like a solid addition for people who play on multiple devices.
