With Clem and several other top players occupied at Stara Zagora, herO took advantage of the opportunity to score a weekly double in online competitions.

June 2: WardiTV Mondays #38

Everything came up (Wiki)herO in WardiTV Mondays, as MaxPax’s absence gave the Code S Season 1 championship an even easier path to victory.

The finals saw herO triumph 3-1 versus Cure, and in the process, the match helped reveal why Cure was so all-in heavy in their GSL finals clash last month. Cure played macro in all four cup final games, and while he looked somewhat competitive up to a point, he ultimately couldn’t stop the Protoss economy from snowballing out of control (VOD).

June 3: PiGosaur Cup #34

A day later, herO picked up his second win of the week in the PiGosaur Cup, taking down MaxPax in the finals. MaxPax’s predictable use of the Stargate fast expansion isn’t a liability against most Protoss players, but it’s looking like herO may have him figured out. His all-ins were strong enough to win him a narrow 3-2 victory, giving him four series wins in a row against the shrouded Dane (VOD).

While most of the games followed a simple ‘cheese vs defense’ dynamic, PvP sickos might enjoy their rather unorthodox game on Incorporeal which stemmed from herO trying to transition into macro after a semi-successful attack.

June 7: StarCraft Evolution League #13

The StarCraft: Evolution Complete mod scene is in disarray after the departure of God-King Dark, with many players now vying for the throne. (Wiki)SHIN rules over the land for now after defeating threepoint 3-2 in SEL #13, but it’s anyone’s guess as to who will be the favorite in August’s $5000+ championship tournament.

In any case, SC: Evo continues to provide a fun change of pace from orthodox SC2 competition. This week, we got to see the bizarre composition of BW Carrier-DT defeat SC2 Zerg (I call it the “hyper-bisu build”), Microbial Shroud find its only use case against BW Mutas, and combined SC2/BW ZvZ be more degenerate than in either game alone (VOD (Korean)).
