Complexity (1.91) vs. OG (1.8)

  • Though Complexity are considered the favorite, bear in mind that Paytyn “junior” Johnson will stand in for their AWPer Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli. And junior hasn’t really played in big tournaments since September 2023, nor is he playing as well as hallzerk
  • OG have not played in big tournaments this year as Complexity did, but they cruised past everyone in the European Major Regional Qualifier (MRQ) in April. Their AWPer Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi is fundamentally better than junior, and we predict that will play a big factor in this match
  • Prediction: OG win

HEROIC (1.09) vs. Chinggis Warriors (6.00)

  • This is by far the easiest match from round one to predict. This current HEROIC squad are top 10 material, and the only reason they didn’t play as many big tournaments as the big names, is because of the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) constraints.
  • Chinggis Warriors, on the other hand, are way less experienced. All players in the Mongolian team, for example, are playing their first Counter-Strike Major ever. Of course that best-of-ones can help out the underdogs, but this one isn’t looking likely at all.
  • Prediction: HEROIC win

BetBoom (1.64) vs. Nemiga (2.12)

  • Just like Chinggis Warriors, all the Nemiga players will play their first Major ever. They’re a decent team, but the nerves could get to them against BetBoom.
  • BetBoom have a good mix of experience and youth. Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov has won a Major with Natus Vincere in 2021 and Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov has made plenty of deep runs. On the youth side, they have one of the most promising players in the world in Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov.
  • Prediction: BetBoom win

B8 (1.63) vs. Imperial (2.14)

  • Especially B8 are on the cusp of a tier-one team, it seems that Imperial need a couple of roster changes to really start challenging the other Brazilian teams and climb the ranks.
  • B8 have more tactical depth and firepower at the moment, so this should be a pretty hard matchup for Imperial unless Santino “try” Rigal and Lucas “decenty” Bacelar come forth with impressive performances.
  • Prediction: B8 win

TYLOO (1.78) vs. NRG (1.93)

  • This match has everything to be one of those tense maps full of back-and-forth action.
  • TYLOO have considerably more raw firepower than the NRG squad, however, some NRG players like Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella and Joshua “oSee” Ohm have more experience in big tournaments. Beyond that, NRG are also one of the home teams, and while there’s no crowd for the Swiss Stage, they’ll probably feel more comfortable.
  • Prediction: NRG win

Lynn Vision (2.38) vs. Legacy (1.52)

  • It’s hard to predict this matchup because Legacy have been dealing with quite hateful messages from fans after BLAST replaced BESTIA with them. So, who knows how this affected their preparation and mental state coming to the Major.
  • That said, Legacy beats Lynn Vision firepower-wise, and their in-game leader Lucas “lux” Meneghini is becoming a better shotcaller every month.
  • Prediction: Legacy win

Wildcard (1.81) vs. Metizport (1.89)

  • While Wildcard hasn’t been playing well in big tournaments, they should have the edge against Metizport, who spent most of the year playing in tier-two or tier-three tournaments.
  • Curiously, this matchup will see two twins playing against one another as Tim “susp” Ångström joined Wildcard last year after a short-lived stint with Metizport. This will be the first time that he and his twin Adam “adamb” Ångström will face each other in a high-stakes match.
  • Prediction: Wildcard win

FlyQuest (1.74) vs. Fluxo (1.98)

  • This Fluxo lineup is very inexperienced, barring the in-game leader Andrei “arT” Piovezan and the AWPer Romeu “zevy” Rocco. except FlyQuest have been playing together for quite some time and have more big tournaments under their belt.
  • It’s a match that could get very scrappy as neither teams are known for their tactical prowess, but we’re favoring FlyQuest’s experience in here.
  • Prediction: FlyQuest win
