GrandSoft Inc. has opened pre-registration for their battle RPG, BRAVE FRONTIER LEGION, on both Android and iOS. This is part of the popular Brave Frontier franchise, whose original title was discontinued in April 2022. While the game was set to launch in May, it’s now pushed to June.
Get ready to lead your legions in intense team-based battles
BRAVE FRONTIER LEGION is a team-based fighting RPG that features 10v10 cooperative battles. In this game, you play as a summoner, commanding a squad of unique characters, each with their abilities and personalities, to build the strongest legion and take part in battles.
Moreover, as you train your units, not only do they grow stronger, but their appearance evolves too. I’m especially interested in trying out its co-op battles up to 10v10s. What makes it more fun is, you can also use chat and stamp for team communication to connect during fights.
Old art, mixed reactions from fans, and uncertain hopes
It looks like gumi Inc. is partnering with GrandSoft Inc. for this release. And thankfully, this one doesn’t seem like the crypto project, Brave Frontier Heroes, that faced major backlash. Fans are also not that happy with this one, as some are calling it “a low effort cash grab” or “No sprites is an instant red flag.“
While the nostalgia factor is there, I believe it’s too early to tell how this game will work out. I want to be optimistic, although some fans are already sceptical, especially since the game reuses old art from the original, and the preview images aren’t that exciting. One Reddit user even called it a typical card RPG.
BRAVE FRONTIER LEGION is now open for pre-registration on both Android and iOS in Japan. You can now pre-register for the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store. Although delayed, according to the App Store’s listing, we can expect the game to launch on June 30 in Japan.
