In August, the biggest event in competitive fighting games is going to begin, EVO 2025. It’s going to be a major event, taking place over multiple days with tons of fighting games getting huge competitions. We’ve got everything from big new titles like Street Fighter 6 to older more classic games.
As has been the case since Sony and partners took over, the event has more than tournaments now. We see trailers and reveals for fighting game related releases as well as the top players going head-to-head. You’ll have to keep an eye out to see if any more SF 6 characters are coming, or even a bit more info on the still upcoming 2XKO. In terms of the actual fighting game esports though, what’s on offer at EVO 2025?

All EVO 2025 Games and Tournaments
EVO has always been about variety in fighting games. We get the biggest fighting games in 2025, but a good mixture. EVO 2025 is divided between main stage tournaments and community tournaments. The main stage events are the biggest and best, while the other events are a chance to watch competitive action for titles that aren’t the center of the world anymore. These are all of the games at the moment:
- Street Fighter 6
- Tekken 8
- Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
- Guilty Gear Strive
- Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising
- Marvel Vs Capcom 2
- Under Night In-Birth II
- Mortal Kombat
A few of these aren’t too surprising, like SF 6. However, there’s also big anime fighting games here, and Mortal Kombat 1 has stuck around! The title is past its active development now, kind of early. But it is still going to be at EVO 2025. Alongside these games, there’s these smaller community tournaments featured too:
- Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O
- King of Fighters XV
- BlazBlue Central Fiction
- Killer Instinct
- Capcom Vs SNK 2
- Samurai Shodown
- Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2
When Can You Watch It?
That’s what’s on offer at EVO 2025, if you want to follow along and see who claims victory, the whole thing will be streamed over August 1-3rd. We’ve already seen record sign-ups for some games, so it’s looking like this will be one of the biggest EVO events we’ve seen.
